Waking up the next morning, I found myself in an unfamiliar environment. Then I remembered that we all stayed in tents together.
Remembering that I had to catch Hogwarts Express, I exited the tent and after greeting everyone immediately made my way to the Dursleys'. I could have gone directly from the training ground but I didn't know if Dumbledore would send someone to insure my entry into the Hogwarts.
I first got ready and wore the jeans and T-shirt that Emma had gifted me some time ago. Looking in the mirror, there was no scrawny little kid with confidence issues that I had seen in my memories. Now if anyone sees me they would only think of a healthy young boy from an affluent background.
I had seriously considered my options. I could stay low key or go all showy routes, there was no middle route. And looking at my circumstances, being low key was going to be detrimental to my plans. so I had decided to let my passive aura flow freely.
I kept my mom's trunk and all the important things inside my spatial ring while that trunk that I had purchased with Hagrid was completely empty from inside.
When I went downstairs, dragging the trunk behind me, Walrus and Horse faced looked at me with squinting eyes. But I could also see some relief in them. Actually for the last month they had completely left me alone as if we were not living in the same house. I read their memories to know why they abused me in the past and the reason I got was that they were unwilling to have me with them from the start.
Petunia did not like Lily and was fiercely jealous of her ability to do magic. Marrying the husband of her choice they had thought that they will finally be able to forget anything related to magic someday but Dumbledore left me at their doorstep without giving them any choice in this matter.
They did not want to be questioned about my parents as there was no proof of James existence in the muggle world and Petunia could not bring herself to just leave me at some orphanage's doorstep. My existence served as a reminder to them that they were helpless in front of magicals and their opinions does not matter. This frustration and anger led them to hate even seeing my face.
Whatever it might be, it could not justify their actions and behaviour in my eyes So I could never sympathise with them.
Leaving those thoughts aside, I walked out of the community. Seeing the Grangers waiting for me, I sat in the backseat of their car with Hermione.
"Hey Harry, shall we go? "
"Hey Dan. Yeah, let's go." After greeting Dan and Emma, I started talking with Hermione.
"So Hermione, got everything prepared? "
"Yeah. I kept all the things inside the ring, my trunk only contains only the most basic things."
"Good. Emma, if you feel the need to talk to us then call Alfred, don't use any other medium. You should also keep in touch with the Tonks and can ask for their help if needed."
"Alright Harry. Don't worry about us. Keep Hermione and yourself safe while at Hogwarts. In fact if possible please let us know that you both are safe every night."
"Hmm. Keep a notebook and pen somewhere safe, I will let Hermione write on it using Vorn."
"Thanks Harry. That would be wonderful. Do you need anything else to be done? "
"Please acquire educational books for various subjects. I will send Alfred to pick them up and also teach them to Hermione. So that we can continue our muggle education side by side. Arrange for the exams to be held during our holidays, for this if you need monetary support to grease some hands then inform me, I have plenty of muggle money."
We stopped talking after reaching King's Cross station.
"Dan, you guys go first and I will arrive after some minutes as there might be people looking for me on the platform.
I made sure that there was no one following me till now but from this point on there are going to be many eyes on me. You both need to avoid that kind of attentions. Just lock the car after exiting, I will come after 10 minutes."
"Okay Harry, I'll wait for you in the express." Nodding at Hermione, I let them leave first. We did not come too early as I did not want to waste our time sitting in the cabin alone. So there were only 10 minutes left before the scheduled departure time when I stepped on platform 9¾.
The moment I entered, there was a flash of light. Turning around I could see Skeeter with her cameraman. That flash also drew attention of people around us. People looked at me curiosity, confusion and adoration. Many did not understand what was happening but some quickly caught onto this. Without giving them a chance to talk to me, I boarded the Hogwarts express.
That commotion outside was my plan as without my scar and with my new looks, few would have recognised me. and I could tell that the plan was a success from the way many were telling their children to make friends with me.
Boarding the express I came to the place Hermione was sitting and found a nervous boy sitting in the cabin. Using Observe, I got to know that It was Neville Longbottom. I had not decided on how to treat the boy as I had too little information previously but using observe I started to go through his past in fast forward to understand where he stands. Her mom was my godmother, my mom's best friend and person who was supposed to take care of me in the absence of my mom. I could understand that she was not in the condition to fulfill those responsibilities but I wanted to know whether Neville even knew about me being his godbrother.
Looking at his past using my ability I got to know that Augusta Longbottom had decided that being close to me would pose a significant threat to their security so she has instructed Neville to not get overly involved in my matters. I also confirmed that he did not know about us being god brothers.
Thinking about this, I also decided to treat Neville just as a normal friend as I didn't want to make things difficult for the poor boy.
