It was time for Alexander or David to go to school again.
The original David was lazy and slept in class.
So when the teachers saw how hard working and smart David had become, they were shocked.
They had no idea that this boy wasn't the real David. He is only a ruthless businessman who escaped death by taking over a young boy's body.
MC POV
These classes don't teach me jack shit. I know Paradis was undeveloped, but I didn't know it was this undeveloped.
It was the end of school, and I heard yelling.
It was Eren Yeager. He was currently in an argument with the other kids, along with Armin and Mikasa.
It appears they are arguing about the Scout Regiment.
Eren yelled.
"You're all just a bunch of cowards. You just want to stay trapped in these walls like caged animals."
To be honest, I agree with the kid. In order for humanity to move forward, they must let go of their fear or use it as a motivator.
Fear is a powerful emotion that is a double-edged sword. Fear can keep people in line or motivate them.
It was a fear of homelessness that motivated me to do well in school.
One of the kids who was arguing with Eren threw a punch that was blocked by Mikasa.
Ackermans are quite frightening due to their abilities.
I believe they used to be Eldians, but then they were genetically modified to be bodyguards for the royal family.
I made this assumption due to Zeke Yeager saying that the Ackermans are the byproduct of titan science.
One of the kids threw a rock at Mikasa, to which she dodges, and it goes towards me.
I caught it with my right hand. Ever since I ate the kids' souls, my reflexes are faster.
Wonder if it's one of the benefits soul eating.
The kids were shocked at my fast reflexes, and the one who threw it apologised.
I just the kid to not let it happen again and decided to play dumb.
"What were you guys arguing about anyway?"
They basically told me that Eren was being suicidal and wanted to be a scout.
And Eren shouted again, saying that they were being cowards.
I spoke.
"Look, guys, you should be grateful we have people that want to venture outside the walls like the scouts. People like them help humanity move forward by travelling the outside world and learning."
I continued.
"I don't want to be a like a caged animal. I want to be free. I want humanity to be free of the titans as well. You may see it as an idiot but I'm not. I'm someone who wants humanity to push forward."
My speech caught the attention of some adults who were shocked that a child could utter such words with passion.
The kids who argued with Eren looked like they changed their opinion of the scouts.
Eren and Armin looked touched at my speech.
Eren was happy that there was someone like him who wanted to be free.
"That was an excellent speech, young man."
Behind me was none other than Grisha Yeager himself.
It's time to put my acting skills to use.
"I know you, you're Grisha Yeager, aren't you. The one who cured the epidemic. I'm a huge fan."
I said this with stars in my eyes.
Grisha looked embarrassed and rubbed his head.
Eren then asked me a question.
"Hey, are you going to become a scout."
"Nah, I'm thinking of being a politician in order to help the scouts or a businessman."
Grisha looked intrigued.
"What kind of business would you own."
"Oh, I would own a company that is both scientific and engineering. It's going to be scientific in order to learn more about the human body and the world, and it's going to be engineering so that new technologies can be made to combat the titans."
Everyone looked impressed.
Soon, it was time to leave, and almost everyone left.
Before Grisha left, he wanted to ask me a question.
"What are your views of the royal family."
This was a golden opportunity to gain his trust and for me to give him a nudge to give me the Attack Titan.
"I don't trust them, Mr Yeager. I just have this weird feeling that somethings of about them."
He stared at me for a while, then with a warm smile left with Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.
My parents picked me up, and we went home.
The next day at school, we had an exam.
For others, it was hard, but for me, it was child's play.
During lunch, I was eating a piece of bread until I was approached by Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.
"Hey David, can we eat with you. Our classmates don't really like us."
Eren wasn't liked by his classmates due to his positive views on the scouts.
Armin and Mikasa were also disliked due to them being friends with Eren.
I smiled and said. "Sure, why not."
They all smiled and ate.
"So David, have you ever wondered about what the ocean is like?"
Armin asked while eating.
"Well, I imagine it's a large amount of water that may or may not have living beings living in it."
This made Eren and Armin think for a while.
Mikasa was just eating and staring at Eren lovingly.
After we finished eating, we all talked about the outside world and what it was like.
Eren invited me to his house, to which my parents gave me permission to.
During my visit to his house, Carla constantly berated him into getting into fights.
When Carla gave me food, she was shocked at how I held my fork and knife, as well as my manners.
When we showed our exam results, Carla was disappointed at her son but was shocked at my results as I got full marks.
Carla and Eren once more started to argue, this time over Eren's desire to become a scout.
Grisha then spoke up.
"Eren, why not try to be like David here and walk his path. It's certainly safer than venturing outside."
Carla was confused about what her husband was talking about. So Grisha explained to Carla what my goals were.
Carla looked shocked at a youngster like me having such goals.
She then asked me whether or not Eren should be a Scout. I can tell she was hoping that I may be able to discourage Eren.
I pretended to be on deep thought.
"That depends, Mrs Yeager, on Eren's resolve and skill. If he wants to venture outside, he would need a strong resolve and good skill to become a Scout as well as fighting against Titans."
Carla didn't look happy at my answer.
"But the risks, though? Becoming a Scout will get you killed."
"Only if you don't have the skills and mindset to survive Mrs Yeager."
Carla looked at Grisha for support.
Grisha was silent for a while.
He seemed to be in deep thought.
"Mrs Yeager, what are your opinions on the Scouts."
"I see them as suicidal people, who exactly on their right mind would go outside where there is countless giants wanting to eat them."
Eren looked like he was going to explode and began arguing with his mother again.
I interrupted their argument by saying what Eren was saying in the anime that galvanised Grisha to resume his mission. I think.
"If no one refuses to fight back against the titans, then all those deaths and hardships would have been for nothing if no one continues the fight."
Grisha had a glint in his eyes. He turned his attention to Eren.
"David is right, Eren. In order to become a Scout, you must have skill and a strong will. Do you really want to join the Scouts."
Eren eagerly said yes, and Grisha accepted his answer and told a bewildered Carla that Eren couldn't be stopped by her.
He then looked at me for a while, thinking about something and left.
Now I have to prepare for the eventual fall of the wall Maria.
