Chapitre 67: Chapter 67

Alex gave him a questioning look, to which Aman said, "Well… I wanted to get strong to teach Hannah and Susan a lesson but now I feel like they will apologise so… um anyways, I have a new goal. I've discovered my passion. A passion in something that you would have never expected me to have any interest in."

"Why did I expect something good…. Anyways, what is it?" Alex asked. He didn't really care if his friend found a new passion or not as long as it didn't affect him and his goals of fulfilling his sins.

"A Quidditch Keeper. I want to become a professional Quidditch Keeper."

"…. Why the sudden change in mind? Before it looked like you didn't have any goals in life.", asked Alex as he looked at him.

"Well… it's because of you. Seeing you do so many amazing things kind of motivated me. You created something fun and it made a huge impact on the way our school works.

You also walk off at night to practice spells and learn stuff that isn't even being taught in our school. It's pretty amazing you know, especially when I see most of the other students lazing around and having fun.

That's when I decided that I didn't want to be like them and change myself. I tried a few things but only after I found out what my grandfather used to do in the past did I find goalkeeping fascinating."

"Oh… okay. Good for you, I guess?"

"What's with the lack of response? Mom told me that my grandfather played for Great Britain a few decades ago until he was well… found dead in his bedroom. My mom was only a child back then…. But she does have memories of him and records of his greatness.

I want to go out there and get people to remember the Bakshi name." Aman said as he clenched his fist. He felt a sense of liberation after letting it out and could feel his heart pounding in his chest.

"That's a lofty goal… becoming a great goal keeper is one thing but making people remember your name? You will have to work extremely hard and change your views of this world."

"I know…", he replied.

"What year are we now?"

"Second year…"

"YES!! What does that mean?"

"That we are second years…. What do you even want from me? I'm trying my best not to use my brain too much and you're not helping."

"Tch Tch. Is this another experiment of yours or something? Anyways, it means we can play Quidditch."

Alex sighed, "No we can't. The team is full and its mostly filled with the final years now since they didn't have a single seventh year in the team last year. They withdrew from the team as they wanted to focus on their studies.

The seventh years this time don't seem to be withdrawing from the team too so I'm sure there won't be any try outs for our house and no try outs means that you will not be able to get into the team.

Talking about quidditch, we might get third place in quidditch this year. Gryffindor and Slytherins have pretty strong teams so it will be hard to complete.

Isn't it funny how a team full of older students are in third place in team strengths when the two strongest teams among the four have seconds years in their team playing the most point gaining roles?"

Aman's footsteps slowed down as his happy face slowly turned disappointed.

"Just why? Isn't it more efficient to keep the best players in the team? What's the point of having experienced players when they have no skill?"

"Take that to the professors, mate. Don't ask me."

"You're right. Let's go talk to professor Flitwick. I heard that he loves Quidditch too much but had lost hope in our house team because of something that happened in the past.

If we manage to convince him, I'm sure that we will be able to get the try outs this year." Aman said as he stormed off towards the great hall dragging Alex behind him.

"Let's just have our breakfast for now. We can get our timetables and finish all of our classes today before we go and talk to him."

Aman simply nodded in reply and continued walking. The great hall was relatively empty compared to the usual crowd he used to see last year and was packed with mostly the first-year students who seemed to be curious about every single thing they saw.

"What a lively bunch aren't they?" said a voice behind Alex.

He didn't have to turn around to know who it was as every single person in Hogwarts except maybe the first years knew how the infamous Weasley twins sounded.

"Well well well, look who it is George. The inventor of the game board himself, standing in front of us in person. Ah, isn't that an honour?"

Before George could reply though, Alex was dragged away to the Ravenclaw table forcefully.

"Hey… I wouldn't mind listening to some compliments you know?", he said as he sat down on the stool beside his friend.

"Compliments? You should be tired of hearing them already. Heck, even I'm tired of hearing them and you're not even with me most of the times."

"….. well, when I wasn't with you, I was busy doing other stuff. Also, you're tired because you're not the one getting compliments, it's me hehehee. Aah, the feeling of getting compliments everywhere I go is just indescribable.", he said as he tried to contain his laughter seeing Aman's face.

"Tch. Just wait. When I become the greatest keeper of all time, you won't be acting so smug."

"Isn't that a great thing for me? I'll be the one making your brooms so you will just be advertising my brooms for free."

"What makes you think I'll do it for free? I can always pick some other broom and show off my skills to the world. After all, the greatest keeper doesn't need the best brooms to be the best."

"Just a feeling…", said Alex in a low voice before he took a piece of apple pie from the table and stuffed his mouth only to burn his tongue in the process.

'I'm not sure I'll be able to see you at the top though… I kind of wish I could. What's this empty feeling… am I getting attached?'
