Chapitre 55: Death of a Mermaid!
As Stefan was pondering what was that thing he saw earlier, he tried to keep calm about it and think carefully. Calculating all the possibilities that could happen, he judged that this vision might be warning him of the impeding danger regarding the ocean.
Stefan's beautiful green eyes carried a tinge of worry in them. He had just arrived in this world and was still unfamiliar with it, he has to hurry and upgrade his knowledge quickly.
Without Heli's help this time, there was only one place that could allow him to get information about this world, that is 'a library'.
As soon he decided on his destination he took out a veil only enough to cover half of his face, but his enchanting beautiful eyes were a proof of his beauty hidden behind the veil.
Stefan stepped lightly on the ground and started walking, following the footprints of those two people. Gradually, he reached the vicinity of the area where humans gather.
At this moment, Stefan looked just like any other human being except for his rare green color eyes that drew attention because of his half face covered by the veil.
But it was only for a short moment, as Stefan then lowered his to hide his distinctive features. He did not want people to notice him.
After walking for some time, Stefan came across a marketplace. The marketplace was bustling with activity. Suddenly, he heard a group of people gossiping about a strange phenomenon. A mermaid died violently.
Although the mermaid was old, he did not deserve such a gruesome death. The people present there witnessed with their own eyes how a black thing suddenly popped out of the mermaid's back and sucked the mermaid in it.
Just as people were puzzled about the mermaid's disappearance, the mermaid's body suddenly fell from the sky and injured two people present there. Before the people there could come to a conclusion, the mermaid which lay on the ground was almost sucked dry.
As the mermaid that fell from the sky could no longer be called a mermaid, but a fearsome existence that remained unknown till now. The reason being, that the sucked body of the mermaid, was suddenly as if slowly getting filled by something evil and menacing, started to look somewhat bloated.
It was as if the mermaid's body is filled with something that should not be there in the body of a mermaid. Everyone was busy discussing the strange phenomena when someone discovered that among a group of people, the eyes of three to four people changed colours, and then they were suddenly attacking their companions.
The young man, who saw the situation wasn't looking any good, quickly shouted and alerted everyone present there. Thanks to his timely alert, not many people got injured, and the situation quickly got under the control. A pungent smell wafted out and the people present around quickly covered their noses in order to not be effected.
Despite their earlier precautions, they were caught off guard when the mermaid's body suddenly blasted out. Some people got drenched with the foul smelling water, and immediately afterwards their behaviour grew increasingly strange.
These people started to scratch themselves again and again, unaware that their skin has already started bleeding and puss has begun to come out of them.
But this thing did not get any attention from the surrounding people. Only the next day when the bodies of these victims were found did people found out that the liquid that fell out from the body of the mermaid was not ordinary liquid at all.
This liquid contained small organisms that remain unnoticed until they grow mature. These organisms feed on human blood to grow and increase their population in order to effect more people and cause chaos.
According to the senior healers, these organisms, that are commonly known as parasites, do not appear unless forced to survive. So now the question that arises is, What could be the reason of their escape? Just what is it that they are so scared of?

Stefan walked unnoticed and quickly left the marketplace. For now, it is more important for him to discern and identify his own situation. He doesn't have enough energy for the time being to focus on the brutal death of the mermaid.
As he continued walking, he stopped a passer-by and asked the location for the public library. The passer-by, first shocked by Stefan's peculiar eyes, immediately told him the direction and informed him of the rules that required significant attention.
After entering the library, he was stopped before he could go to the first floor. The stopper claimed to be a magician, adept in managing and controlling the power of these books.
Curious about the power of the books, Stefan asked him why he needed to manage the power of the books? What was the power of the book? And Why one wasn't allowed to venture to the upper floors without a senior guide?
Adhering to its principles, the library contained a solemn atmosphere and required one to be a powerful individual in order to access the upper floors.
The magician was intrigued by Stefan's accent, his beautiful green eyes and his innovative ideas as a modern man.
Just as Stefan and the magician were busy discussing new ideas, there was a commotion in front of the library.
"Tyler, you are just a nobody and nobodies don't deserve to learn knowledge!!", said an arrogant voice.
Even without seeing the face, Stefan could guess that the guy who spoke just now must be very arrogant and conceited.
Stefan was not wrong, as the person who spoke quickly gestured and his followers started to beat a boy of about the same age as him.
The magician quickly summoned something and captured the rebellious group of children.
"How dare you cause a ruckus in front of my library!!", following the magician's voice, an object flew out of his hand and encircled the group by caging them from all sides.
Finding that the situation is under control, Stefan stepped out and gently helped Tyler to get up and patted the dust from his clothes.
'Tyler.... Sounds familiar..', thought Stefan.
