Chapter 6: Preparation for Splurging and Hidden Dangers

Even though Warren acquired so many rare ability cards all at once, he chose to selectively use only a few of them.

[Naturally Strong]: An unnatural superhuman strength talent that allows even a skinny person to exert tremendous power.

[Calm and Composed]: Your emotional levels cannot be voluntarily raised to excessive levels. Use with caution.

[Agile]: Your movements are far more agile than normal, unaffected even if you were a mammoth.

[Cat's Agility]: You possess faster reaction speed, better balance, and body coordination, such as "Eighteen Palms of the Dragon" and "Cat Turns, Cat Lands, Cat Shakes Water." It works even without a tail or paw pads.

[Beast's Intuition]: Gain the ability to sense the level of danger from a target and even predict fatal dangers.

"Look at this! This is what rarity truly means!"

'The Naturally Strong' falls under the category of superhuman strength, and it's amazing that even a skinny person can use it.

'Calm and Composed' seems a bit problematic. "Emotional levels cannot be voluntarily raised." Doesn't that mean others' emotional manipulation skills would still work on you? Like the Scarlet Witch's powers in the future.

'Agile' reminded Warren of the circus performances he had seen as a child: bears playing with balls. Quite vivid.

'Cat's Agility' is the ability Warren finds the best because he had watched some videos before where cats teased snakes, and the slow-motion shots of cats landing.

Cats have quick reaction speeds. In the videos, they evaded multiple attacks from snakes effortlessly and with ease.

The 'Silent Movement' effect is also quite good; it can be used even without paw pads.

Although it was just a white rare card, it had so many effects. That's why Warren decided to call it the strongest white rare.

'Beast's Intuition' provides the ability to perceive the level of danger from a target, like a detection ability, and the ability to foresee fatal dangers. It's like a god-tier skill. At least he wouldn't fear getting shot by a sniper.

Warren used these five cards directly, while he stored the other ability-type cards for now.

For example, the [Mystic Talent] card. He didn't plan on learning magic at Kamar-Taj, so he didn't need it at the moment.

The [Faint Berserk Bloodline] shouldn't be used casually. Just by the name, it doesn't sound safe. Warren considered using it on a small animal later and then giving it to Dr. Esmond Asno.

[Life Jewel]: Wearing it provides a small amount of life recovery effect, although small, it surpasses that of an ordinary person. It's from League of Legends.

"League of Legends?"

This is one of the cheapest items in League of Legends, and in the game, it increases health regeneration.

A small green gem the size of a marble, Warren also placed it in the card library for now.

[Super Soldier Serum]: This thing is good, but Warren doesn't plan to use it. Why not study it and replicate it slowly after gaining complete control of the company? After all, it's a limited edition.

And he's not a soldier now; he's a boss. According to the plot, it's a period of peaceful development, and there isn't a strong need for enhancement from it.

[Artificial Spider Silk Solution Formula and Spider Web Launcher Details (with 1,000 types of web spraying plans)]: This is a good thing, but Warren just checked. Osborn Corporation might sue him for infringement since they have been researching this project for many years.

However, it doesn't matter. The company's talents will handle it. Moreover, although Osborn has been researching the spider silk project for many years, they still haven't been able to develop a usable artificial spider silk solution. Relying solely on spider farming is still too limited.

Now, Warren possesses the future version of Osborn Corporation's products. Wouldn't it be a waste not to get ahead of them and make a profit with this blue rare card?

[Trait: Explosion]: This is a pretty good superpower. He'll keep it as a backup. After all, he doesn't know if having too many superpowers will cause conflicts. Warren plans to choose the best ones to use. After all, in anime, having multiple superpowers seems to lead to becoming like "Braindead." So he needs to be cautious.

Mutation abilities don't matter; it seems that one person possessing multiple abilities won't have much impact. But since he didn't draw any mutation abilities, it's not relevant.

"Nivaya, take a look at this first, then hand it over to the R&D department. Let them produce a batch of finished products as quickly as possible. Once they have the finished products, arrange a meeting for me with the Police Commissioner in New York. I want to sell him the latest riot gear.

Also, inform the legal department that we might have some business disputes with Osborn Corporation. Ask them to be prepared."

"Understood, sir."

...

Not long after Nivaya left, Jason arrived.

The sly old fox had a smile on his face. "Oh, dear Warren, where did you get these wonderful things?"

It's hard to keep something this big a secret, and when the R&D department received the information, they thought:

Why bother developing when the boss wants us to develop? Just repaint the spider silk launcher?

Indeed, the information was very comprehensive. It not only included the spider web solution formula and the spider web launcher blueprints but also 1,000 types of web spraying plans—giant webs, adhesive webs, resilient spider silk, electric shock webs...

Develop? More like attending a class.

In this 'democratic' country, selling spider silk launchers to the police would undoubtedly have a huge market. That was beyond doubt. So, when Jason heard the news, he immediately came to see Warren.

"Jason, my dear uncle, Worthington Industries owes its development and growth to your credit. And now, during this crucial expansion period for the company, we have several tough battles to fight. I entrust Washington Industries to you, and I also entrust the mass production of spider silk launchers and spider web solutions to you."

Warren avoided mentioning the source of the spider silk information, and naturally, Jason wouldn't pry.

"There's no problem with that, but judging by your intention, are you planning to place this king's piece in Worthington Pharmaceuticals?"

"Yes, that's where the Worthington Empire begins."

At that moment, Nivaya's call came in. "Sir, Wade is here seeking an audience."

"Alright, have him wait in the reception room," Warren replied.

"It seems you have other matters to attend to," Jason said with a smile.

"Yes, I'll be quite busy for a while."

After Warren left, Jason's expression changed abruptly, and he appeared somewhat uneasy.

From Warren's tone earlier, Jason thought Warren was planning something against Tony Stark.

But Warren was just a 20-year-old kid. How could he be so proficient in these matters? So Jason did some investigations and found out that Warren had recently been in contact with dangerous mercenary groups, not just one group.

And today, he brought out a finished product that Osborn Corporation had been researching but had yet to mass-produce.

This made Jason uneasy. He thought to himself, "Wow, this young man is really going down a wild path. Why is he so skilled in these matters? I better play it safe and focus on making money. After all, I'm a shareholder too, and when the company grows, we all profit."

Ahem, it's not being cowardly, it's maximizing our interests.

...

In the reception room, several armed mercenaries entered, carrying large bags that could fit a body.

Leading them was a handsome man, not inferior to Warren's appearance, but unsurprisingly, he would eventually turn into a Green Goblin.

"My dear Mr. Wilson, we have brought the goods for you," he said, winking.

Enough with the flirtation.

Wade waved his hand, and the mercenaries unzipped the bags, revealing an old face.

Warren stood up and said in a deep voice, "Erik Lensherr!"

Magneto.

"And the other mutants you requested. To be honest, they're only worth $500,000 each. It seems you underestimated their value," Wade had the urge to increase the price.

"They are just extras," Warren replied.

What are you thinking, raising the price? $500,000 is already a rare card!

"I understand, I understand. Magneto is your main target. Who made him kill your... sorry," Wade quickly stopped himself.

"The helmet, where is it?"

"Although I don't know why you need it, I brought it for you. However, the color is too dull. I suggest you paint it in the most vibrant red to match your youthful vitality." Wade placed Magneto's helmet on the table.

This thing can resist mental control, so Warren had the mercenaries find it for him as well.

But this guy talks too much.

Warren waved his hand. "Alright, leave the items. Nivaya will take you to collect the payment."

"I like your straightforwardness. May God bless you with great wealth," Wade, this guy is too audacious. He even blew a kiss, making Warren want to slap him.

After the mercenaries left, Warren instructed the security team to take all the unconscious mutants to the Worthington Laboratory, except for Magneto, who would be kept under separate surveillance. The rest would be handed over to Dr. Esmond Asno.

All the money he spent on drawing cards would soon be recouped from these individuals.

Of course, Magneto is useless. He's just a cover for those "extras." Warren doesn't hold any grudges against him. It's just for show. The real targets are those "extras" with the "recovery" ability.

Warren recovered a lot of surveillance footage from the rescue on Icarus Island. He had the mercenaries identify those under Magneto's command who displayed extraordinary "self-healing" abilities and had them captured as "extras."

Back then, they rebelled with joy, but now they will all be returned. Don't think you can get away.

The police may have too much on their hands to pursue you, but I will.

These mutants were all hit by the "antidote" weapon, losing their mutant abilities. They were easily captured by the mercenaries who received the spider silk information.

From them, Warren saw his future income from drawing cards.

"Acceleration Healing Potion, Limb Regeneration Potion... oh, and the Hair Regrowth Potion, Hair Color-Changing Potion. They are all money makers!"

With the genetic identification technology from Worthington Laboratory, it wouldn't be difficult to produce the mentioned potions. It's even safe to say that it's straightforward.

But money isn't earned like that; it has to be done step by step, slowly reaping the benefits.

Warren had a small company in his previous life, although not on the scale of Worthington Industries, but he understood how to make money.

To earn money, just follow the lead of others. After all, we have the technology, and with technology, we're the boss.

Yes, I want to become the boss!
