Haruno Sakura vs. Gaara!
If this were following the original plot, Sakura would be expected only to get beaten. However, the current Sakura has been transformed by Yuki! Even if she's considered "waste," she's now at least recyclable waste.
"Haruno? A civilian ninja. Kazekage-sama, it seems that Sand Shinobi has this round in the bag," Onoki teased.
"Haha~ Thankfully," Rasa replied, his face showing modesty but his eyes revealing immense confidence. His genius son, Gaara, is the perfect heir to the Magnet Style. Could he really lose to a civilian female ninja?
"Boring," the Fourth Raikage expressed, showing no interest as he closed his eyes to rest in his seat.
"Well, everyone, do your best," the Fourth Hokage shrugged casually. It was obvious he wasn't optimistic about his ninja either. After all, the gap in abilities between the two seemed too vast.
Gaara stared at the seemingly infatuated girl on the field, while Kurenai shifted her gaze to Yuki in the VIP seat. Yuki also noticed her look and returned it with a kind smile.
"Both sides are in position. Let's get started!" Kurenai announced the beginning of the match.
Under the watchful eyes of those with little faith in her, Sakura was the first to attack Gaara.
"Shoo~" She threw two kunai.
"Ding Ding~" Gaara didn't move but controlled the sand to block the incoming kunai, while also firing several metal bullets.
"Puff!" Sakura was hit but turned into a log.
Substitution Technique!
This fight was turning out to be uneventful. Sakura, indeed a commoner ninja with no family jutsu to her name, relied on the basic ninjutsu taught in school textbooks. Overestimating her own strength, she charged at Gaara head-on and threw a punch.
"Boom!" Her fist collided with the sand.
She failed to penetrate Gaara's defense and was instead sent reeling back with a pained cry.
"Ow! It hurts!" Sakura clutched her bleeding fist and quickly retreated a few steps, prompting bewildered looks from the audience.
What sort of duel was this? The gap in strength was too big!
Gaara just stood there, motionless, letting Haruno Sakura's punches, kicks, and kunai attacks attempt to breach his defense.
All her attacks failed to penetrate his defense.
"Give up! The gap in our strength is too vast," Gaara said, persuading her with a silent face.
"Sakura, come on!" Ino shouted. Despite their frequent quarrels, they had a deep friendship that spanned many years.
Sakura, moved by Ino's encouragement, glanced up and locked eyes with Yuki in the audience. His gentle gaze fueled her determination not to let him down. In her mind, she couldn't disappoint Yuki, although he hadn't placed any expectations on her. He was merely curious about how poorly Sakura might perform.
Charging towards Gaara once again, Sakura clenched her fists, ready to fight. Gaara, unfazed, used his sand to immobilize her, starting from her feet and eventually encapsulating her entire body.
"I'll say it one last time, surrender!" Gaara issued one final warning, growing impatient with her stubbornness.
"I won't! I will never admit defeat!" Haruno Sakura declared, refusing to surrender.
At this juncture, her refusal to give up made her seem more desperate than determined in the eyes of the audience. Kurenai, ready to intervene, halted when Yuki's voice reached her,
"Wait Kurenai, let her continue"
Gaara, seeing no concession from Sakura and no intervention from Kurenai, prepared to end the match decisively. He lifted his hand, directing the sand to execute his final attack.
"Magnet Style: Metal Funeral!" The sand, laden with dense metal, threatened to crush Sakura under immense pressure.
Yet, in a surprising turn, Sakura activated a technique to reinforce her physical defense, bearing the metal sand's squeeze. Gaara and the audience were astonished as she broke free, despite severe bruises and injuries.
In an incredible moment, Sakura charged at Gaara and landed a punch on his face.
