Chapitre 3: A Nation, Risen

A few hours later, Alexander stepped out of the gate with his body full of blood from the Damned. In his hand, it was the dimensional crystal. It glowed a darkish blue light and emitted a very cold aura that gave chills to everyone near it. As he was a few steps away from the gate, he casually crushed the crystal and the gate behind him quickly disappears.

The view of the city was completely different now from when Alexander arrived. There was destruction everywhere, cars overturned and burning, a few bodies lying on the ground, blood splattered everywhere and a massive wall of earth.

As things have finally settled down, Cassander brought down the wall. It was their win, but it didn't felt like it seeing the destruction that the gate had brought. The first responders and military stuck on the side of the wall had finally had the freedom to do their work and provide assistance to the wounded.

As the Diadochi went to Alexander, a little girl walked towards Antigonus and hugged him, thanking him for saving her and his brother.

"Mister, thank you for saving us!" the little girl said as she tightens her hug around Antigonus.

"You're a good girl, I promise that no one will hurt you or your brother again" Antigonus said as he smiled at the little girl and pats her head gently.

Seeing this, the people who were saved by them went near them. One person raised his hand and touched the shoulder of Cassander. This took Cassander and the others by surprise but what they felt was a gentle touch of gratitude. They were soon surrounded by a sea of hands and felt the warmth of the people.

Rushing towards the scene, several black SUV's quickly gathered at the site of the incident. One by one they exit the vehicles. They all wore uniformed white, long sleeved, semi-transparent shirts, sunglasses and an earpiece.

The last one to exit was different, he wore a black and elegant long-sleeved shirt, and black pants. He has a white hair and beard and still had an athletic figure. He was the current President of the Philippines.

Seeing him, Alexander politely asked for the people to give way so he could meet the President. The men in white all pointed their guns towards Alexander as they saw that he was walking towards the President. The president signaled them to lower down their guns immediately.

"I apologize for them, I didn't want to take them, but the law says otherwise." the President said as he laughed.

"It only means that they are doing their work, besides they're not the only ones to raise their weapons" Alexander said as he signaled the Diadochi to lower their weapons.

"HAHAHA, I'm the President of this country, Carlos Sobredilla, I'd like to invite you to the Palace so we can have a talk."

"I'm Alexander III of Macedon, although I'm no King in this era."

President Sobredilla wasn't surprised of what he heard and instead asks his guards to escort Alexander and his men to the vehicles. Alexander didn't sense any hostile intent from the president and decided to go with them.

Antigonus gave the little girl a sun shaped necklace and told her that he would come back for her and his brother later and that they should focus on getting their wounds treated.

Nearing the Malacañang Palace, Alexander and the Diadochi were astonished and amazed of the massive white structure before them. It wasn't as beautiful as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, but it had a different charm to it that shouldn't be compared.

"I welcome you gentlemen, this is the Malacañang Palace." the president proudly said.

"It's beautiful, It's the first time that I see something like this."

Moments later, they all enter the office of the president. They were all served with the finest coffee and pastries that the President can offer. The president asked about what the incident was about, and Alexander told him about the reemergence of the Damned, the Gates of the Underworld, the inevitable war, and Magic.

The president is in silence trying to process all of the things that Alexander had said. It took him a few minutes to take in all the information.

"Can I ask you to say in my nation and help us in learning magic and defeating the Damned?" The president said solemnly.

"I'm afraid that I must decline, but I can offer you an alliance between two nations although I do have a few conditions."

"Nations? but you said earlier that you aren't the king" The president said in confusion.

"Yes, but worry not. A new nation will rise from the Atlantic soon."

"A new nation? are you planning to conquer a nation there?"

"I'll give you the details later, but right now, I would like to ask if there is someplace where the whole world can hear me?'

The president was surprised about the question and took him a while before he could answer.

"A World Meeting with the United Nations. It'll be difficult to invite every country but due to this incident, I believe that they wouldn't miss this."

"Can you help set this meeting as soon as possible? Possibly within two weeks."

"Ehhh?" The president said with visible disbelief and confusion expressed in his face.

The two continued to talk, it took them a full eight hours of nonstop talking. Within these eight hours, the two had exchanged their needed information, reached an agreement between two nations, and concocted a plan about including the United Nations.

They also became good friends.

Due to the severity and unknown nature of the incident in Manila, it wasn't difficult to convince the United Nations to hold an urgent world meeting in the Philippines. This didn't make a lot of world leaders happy due to their busy schedules.

Back in the archaeology site, Alexander and his men had returned. A worried Elizabeth was waiting for them. She had heard the news of the incident in Manila in the radio.

"You're finally back. What happened in Manila?"

"We took down the Damned, save the people, closed the gate, met the president, and set up a world meeting."

"Huh?" Elizabeth said in disbelief. "How did you do all of that in less than one day?"

"I'd love to tell you everything Elizabeth, but time is of the essence, we're heading to the Atlantic right now and we returned to ask if you and your father would like to accompany us."

Without even waiting for Elizabeth's answer, Alexander carried her like a princess. While Cassander and Antigonus took Dr. Smith from his sleep.

"Rajit!! You're in charge of the si...." Elizabeth said as she completely vanished when a light from the heavens reached her.

Teleported in the Atlantic, the group was levitating on top of the water. This surprised Elizabeth so much that she screamed loudly and woke her father up who also screamed louder. As they calm down, Alexander imbued them with magic that would allow them to levitate.

Alexander slowly descended until his feet touched the water. He then knelt and using his right hand touch the surface of the water. A sun with 16 rays appeared on the back of his hand and a few seconds later, light emerged from the very depths of the sea.

The light grew brighter and larger as it was ascending in the water. A pointy rock like figure appeared out of the water. It was hard to discern at first but as it ascended, it was a massive statue of Poseidon holding a trident.

Elizabeth and Dr. Smith were speechless. Never in their lives would they imagine seeing Atlantis above the sea. It was nearly impossible to even see Atlantis in the depths.

A few minutes later, the whole nation of Atlantis had emerged. It was ruined, the once glorious stone buildings are now but rubble, the once magnificent palace already fell and only the half remains, and the strong walls that protect it is where nowhere to be found. Only the Statue of Poseidon remains.

Elizabeth and Dr. Smith couldn't believe what they were seeing. One moment they were at the legendary tomb of Alexander the great and now they are standing in the very stone ground of the lost city of Atlantis. They did not waste any time and explored the place.

"Those two are sure having the time of their lives right now." Ptolemy said.

"It sure reminds me of someone who was obsessed with history." Seleceus said as he looked at Ptolemy.

Alexander was silent, he wasn't moving or doing anything. He was just staring at the statue of Poseidon. Elizabeth saw him and was about to go near him and ask him about Atlantis but suddenly he unsheathes his sword and swiftly destroys Poseidon's statue.

"What? Why did you do that? It was a priceless piece of history?" Elizabeth shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Because the statue means nothing anymore as Poseidon is dead and so is the entire Greek Pantheon"
