Inside Director Du's office, the tension was palpable. Xia Mengrui stood before his desk, while he sat in his chair. Papers were scattered everywhere, and the silence was punctuated only by Xia Mengrui's desperate sobs.
"Director Du, please, you have to listen to me," Xia Mengrui implored, her voice breaking into a cough. "Please don't kick me out of the show. This is all a misunderstanding. I can still make things right."
"Xia Mengrui, the damage has already been done," Director Du stated flatly. "Because of your actions, the show has suffered immense losses. Several key investors are pulling out."
"But... but Yang Lingyun recommended me to be on the show. He can't just kick me out like this."
Director Du's expression hardened at the mention of Yang Lingyun's name. "Are you perhaps delusional?" he retorted sharply. "He withdrew the sponsorship and explicitly requested that you be removed from the show, no matter what."
"The higher you rise, the greater will be your fall"
