Carter swept Daliah from the ground and over his shoulder. His time was running out, and he had none left to argue with her.
The lycanthropic transformation would occur soon.
"PUT—ME; DOWN!" Dahlia demanded as Carter ignored her and kept moving toward the plateau on the peak.
"Stop fighting," He growled as she kicked her feet and pounded on his back with her fists to put her down.
Dahlia used her arms to push herself up on his shoulder to see where Carter was carrying her off to. She saw the path that had been worn through the forest over time by others who had come to this place.
There was a serene meadow and a lovers' lookout just beyond the pine trees. People only came here for two reasons: to make love under the night sky or to jump off the cliff.
Her heart beat furiously against her chest as the thought crossed her mind. Was Willow right—was Carter a lady killer?
