Wren was the first to wake up which was odd because Cardan was usually the one who always woke up first.

And the reason she woke up first wasn't for reasons such as her simply waking up earlier no, she woke up first because the surface or person she was on began feeling a lot more like a heater.

Don't get her wrong Cardan was warm but he wasn't this warm.

When she looked at him she could already guess what was wrong with him.

He was having a fever.

Wren acted first, she pulled away from Cardan's tight grip on her before running to get a lukewarm wet cloth and laying it on his forehead.

She came back with extra blankets and didn't cover him with them until she cleaned off all the sweat on his body then she was able to cover him with the blankets. She wet the cloth again in the lukewarm bucket before moving it to his neck, hands and feet then she went to the kitchen to make him her mother's famous fever soup.
