"Not a girl and not interested." I simply stated.
It was weird, it was as if I could hear his whole soul crush at the simple statement.
"That, that can't be true, no, no, it can't you're just messing with me… right? Right?"
I merely turned my back and left the man to his existential crisis.
There were better things to do than listen to a man break.
And so I left, my footsteps quiet against the backdrop of the world.
In no time I found myself staring face to face with another goblin.
I did not have the upper hand this time.
I ducked under my shield, angling it so as to deflect the blow. It fell to the ground and I tried to trap it there.
It did not work as with a swift move of his arm he sent a dagger flying to my face.
An attack that I was forced to dodge and even further forced to watch as he took his spear by the shaft and flung it at me.
With greater force than I could block. And so I threw my shield right back at it.
CLANG-NG
They impacted in the air and brought forth a clash that threw them both to the ground.
My eyes darted from side to side. Yet even so I lost track of the goblin, it was as if he had disappeared without a trace.
And so I had to keep my eyes open, on guard for any attack that I could.
There was a breath, I could barely hear it. But what I could hear was the whirl as something was flung towards me.
I rolled over the ground, mud painting my clothes brown.
Then with an upper slash caught the hilt of the dagger and with it the blood of the goblin.
It howled out in pain.
But that was deadly for it as with another slash I cut through its neck and kicked it to the ground.
I crouched, my hands to my knees as I took a rough breath.
Then after a moment my knee fell to the ground and with it my body.
There was a moment of silence before I groaned at the injuries I had sustained. A cut here, a bruise there.
"Eh!" A voice echoed and it was the same annoying one I had departed.
"Let me treat that for you."
He had a first aid kit in his hand, bandages and wipes.

…
…
…
"You really are a guy…" He said, his voice filled with amazement.
He touched my hair, a touch that I simply shrugged off.
I turned to the side and clutched my sword close to my side.
"Yes, was it not stated before."
"I mean it was, but I couldn't believe it I mean…"
He gestured to my body and I just leveled another glare at him.
I turned over and felt my wounds, they were still a bit fresh but that was all. A bit of pain never hurts anyone. Not in the least me.
"Where'd you get the first aid kit?"
It had just come to mind, but we were only allowed to bring with us a weapon and some food. Nothing less, nothing more.
"What do you mean, we were only allowed a weapon and some first aid stuff, its not that weird right?"
I sighed and put the pieces together.
"We're from different schools aren't we, it's the only explanation."
"Probably, I'm from the Blue rose academia, you?"
"White tiger."
With that the conversation lulled, only occasionally broken by the sound of our feet against the grass.
We walked further and further into the grassland. And even though I would have preferred to be alone it still wasn't bad to have someone here to watch my back.
Even if I still did not trust him at all.
"Shh…" he whispered, his voice quiet against the backdrop of the world.
I shushed myself as he said, there may have been mistrust between both of us, but it was better to listen rather than disobey and risk death via goblin.
For a moment I looked around, only to find a fireplace.
It was filled with embers of a fire once lit. And there was even footprints that showed that there had been people here.
I approached quietly.
And when I got there I inspected the footprints.
"Anything?"
"Not human…" I muttered.
They were typical of a goblin, small feet with many footprints. It was typical in that goblins had a tendency to pace around a bunch.
It made it easier to find their footsteps but also harder to figure out where they had gone or if they even were truly gone.
One of the more annoying traits that without expertise made it almost impossible to track them.
However, despite the difficulty, I still tried. I researched the steps with a clinical eye.
But it was in the conclusion that I came to that I found myself hurled to the ground.
A dart had pierced the area that I had rolled out of the way of. However the man that had followed me was not so perceptive.
With a gasp he fell to the ground, his sword fell from his hands and his face turned a bright green.
'Poison'
I looked around and found myself surrounded.

"Well shit"
I raised my own sword and with a motion dashed to the side. Within moments I was upon the first goblin.
I cut the blowdart in half, and with another slice the head of the goblin. But in the time that I had done that the others had closed in on me.
There was a whistle in the wind and even with the best of my efforts I could not dodge it. I felt a sting to my side.
And with a grunt of pain I fell to the ground.
But before that I slashed one last time, a final fuck you to those that thought I would go down without a fight.
But they merely snickered, as even as my vision turned blurry I could see them grab onto me and the man that had come with me. To the items we had taken with us.
My grip tightened on my sword but it was useless. There was nothing I could do as they took it from my grasp and sheathed it to their own sides.
"Fuck me…"
It was the last thing I could say before I fell to the ground. Completely unconscious.
