Lydia chuckled, leaning back into the sofa. "Over who could give me the more impressive gift, of course. It was like watching a competition for my attention."

He couldn't help but laugh at the image that painted. Jonathan and Mr. Anthony trying to outdo each other to impress her seemed oddly comical. "I can only imagine."

Their conversation was interrupted by the doorbell ringing, announcing the arrival of their dinner. Jerry got up to answer the door, and as he brought the bags of food back to the living room, he caught Lydia's gaze. There was a sense of shared understanding between them, a feeling that perhaps they were both seeking a fresh start, away from the complications of their past.

They dug into their meal with gusto, the delicious aroma filling the air. As they savored each bite, Jerry's mind wandered back to his initial question. "So, which one of them won the showdown?"
