Actually Elena just asked him a question. Normally he would answer the question or if he was unaware of the answer, he would say that to Elena. But this time he did not do any of that. The question that Elena asked him was simple. She asked if he was not feeling the trouble for controlling so many people together ?

This question immediately revealed that Elena was already aware of its identity and that made the mastermind to trimble in fear.
