Urbosa surveyed the tens of thousands of residents of Gerudo town, who were buzzing with life on the night of the winter solstice.
She was alone on the roof of her Palace, enjoying the cold desert wind and the smell of street food wafting up from her city.
Suddenly a dash of light streaked across the sky and crashed in front of Urbosha's tall figure.
A star fragment? The Gerudo chief thought, no... a box?
Drawing her swords, Urbosa slowly advanced on the strange extraterrestrial object, her body brimming with enough electrical power to level a city block.
When she saw what was in the basket, she immediately dropped her weapons and fell to the floor, tears pouring from her eyes.
A child lay there, covered in cloth, and sleeping soundly. It had a small pendant around its neck.
The kid couldn't be more than five years old, and it shared the features of Gerudo royalty, like light brown skin and red hair, but the child also had huge, white-blue eyes that briefly fluttered before falling back into a slumber.
It carried white birthmarks all over its body, whirls, and lines that were mesmerizing to look at.
Urbosa immediately recognized the child as her own in a way that only a mother could.
"My daughter, an Heir to the Gerudo!" the chieftess cried out as she tenderly picked up the sleeping baby, thinking back to a fated encounter that she had just begun forgetting.

Nine months previously, Urbosa and a band of five hundred warriors set out on a mission to kill a titanic desert monstrosity - a Molduga.
Hundreds of warriors fell to the beast, and Urboda was forced to leap onto the back of the Molduga, eventually killing it: but only after being taken hundreds of leagues away from civilization.
Urbosa took refuge in a small valley, where she found a figure that seemed to exclude an aura of subtle power, bathing in a moonlit pond.
From that point, her memory was hazy, so she just assumed the rest of what had happened that night was a dream. But here was a child with Royal Gerudo features that simply fell from the sky nine months later!
The population is almost all female, so Urbosha assumed the sleeping child to be a little girl, especially with its beautiful features.
Hurrying down from her solitary perch, Urbosa quickly called for the royal council to assemble.
The royal advisors, generals, and noblewomen gathered before the throne, awaiting their leader's announcement.
Standing up from her throne, Urbosa's commanding voice rang out across the crowd, "I have brought you here to announce my heir, the next Chief of the Gerudo!"
Murmurs broke out across the audience. Urbosa was very reclusive, so it wasn't impossible for her to have been with child or to have had a mistress, and an heir to the royal line was a joyous occasion.
Urbosa easily picked up the still-sleeping child, about to show the crowd their new princess, before a scream cup the palpable apprehension in the room.
"It's a Voe!" shouted a nearby advisor, who had looked closely into the kid in Urbosa's arms.
"A man in Gerudo town!" "In the sacred palace!" "Look at his red hair!"
It was commonly known males weren't allowed in Gerudo town, especially the palace, so the crowd instantly surged forward with weapons drawn. They were further incensed when the heir they thought to be a baby turned out to be the size of a small child, thinking it was some kind of dark magic.
The last male Gerudo was a feared existence, Ganondorf, the Demon King who plagued Hyrule since ancient times. Therefore a Gerudo man, especially one with red hair, was seen as a threat.
While most people in the room were loyal to Urbosa, some factions saw an opportunity in her lapse of judgment.
Isha, a rich jewelry merchant, spoke up, "Urbosa! What have you done bringing this Voe here? Is it one of your bastard children? We must kill it at once!"
Numerous more fearfully called out against the sleeping child: "This must be a spawn of The Demon King!" "It has to die."
The burning motherly love and pride quickly dried up, and a seed of doubt formed in Urbosa's mind.
While the crowd raged on in fear and anger, Isha caught sight of the glowing pendant on the little boy's neck, and greed overwhelmed her heart.
The rich merchant grabbed and ripped off the beautiful piece of jewelry during the mayhem of the enraged crowd.
Under the pressure of her subjects, Urbosa squashed the motherly instinct that made her not notice the now-obvious male traits of her son and caused her to call this meeting in a fit of passion and pride.
Eventually, the pressure from her peers cracked through the Chief's maternal instincts, "I... I know was must be done." Urbosa unleashed a small wave of lightning, forcing the fearful Gerudo to step back.
It was then the child woke up.

Man, that was a crazy dream. I got shot and then started flying. I gotta start getting some more sleep.
Hey... why are my hands so small? Who's this holding me? I feel like I recognize her... and why are all these angry women surrounding me?
I'm smaller, and I'm being held like a baby...
The only conclusion I can think of is that I was reborn!
The woman holding me: I guess my mom? Calls out some words I can't understand.
It sounds kind of ominous, but damn, look at this palace.
What a lucky baby I was reborn as!
My mom takes me through the crowd of angry women and out into a beautiful metropolis. Wait... I recognize this city; it's Gerudo town from Zelda!
WOO HOO, reborn into Hyrule, this tall woman; I knew she looked familiar. She must be Urbosa!
Urbosa holds me tightly to her chest as she runs across the rooftops of Gerudo town, which is hundreds of times bigger than the few buildings from the games. Why does she look so sad? AM I AN UGLY BABY? No, that cannot be.
We eventually arrive at a large wall that must be at least forty feet high. Urbosa goes through a gate and mounts a sand seal.
I guess we are going on a nighttime joyride? It is very cold out here, though. Can we go back?
"May we please head home?" Urbosa ignores me. On yeah, she doesn't understand English.

Days pass on the sand seal, and I am fed some kind of milk and some fruits, that tastes very good, but this is getting uncomfortable.
Urbosa speaks to me in a language I don't understand, Gerudo, I assume. I can tell she seems sad but also angry and a bit rough with me for some reason.
Still, I do not cry. I must maintain my dignity!
We arrive at a small outcropping of trees, and Urbosa places me on a rock. She talks to me in a very solum tone, then begins to walk off.
Where is she going?
Why are you getting on that seal?
WAIT
Is this a prank?
Thirty minutes pass, and the reality starts to set in. I was left to die. Then it hits me, I'm a guy, and Gerudo are like - super sexist. But WHAT THE HELL? I'm like five years old!

After some good crying, I stop feeling sorry for myself and toughen up. It's early morning, so I'm not burning or freezing to death.
Ten feet away, there it is! My salvation - a patch of Hydrofruit under a tree; I recognize them from the game!
I climb off the rock and slowly walk over to the heat-resistant fruit, getting used to my new body. When I make it there, I start chomping away at a hydro fruit and reach its cool interior just before the dry desert heat sets in.
I reckon I'm about five years old, I just thought I was a baby due to the massive stature of the Gerudo- I remember that Ubosha is 6'9.
With such a small body, it seems like I'm just barely going to be able to fend for myself out here.
Focussing back on my survival, I see more Hydrofruit deeper into the little desert grove. I also see some spicy peppers that I know help with the cold!
After I take a survey of my surroundings, I come up with a plan. By weaving some fronds together, I craft a small sled, which I use to spend the rest of the day collecting valuable volt fruit, spicy peppers, hydro fruit, and even a couple of fire fruit, all fauna I recognized from the game.
The Fire Fruit isn't in Breath of the Wild, and the world here seems much bigger. This Hyrule is definitely different from the games; maybe some kind of mashup?
Oh well, things to think about tomorrow. I need some sleep.
I think the best aspect of Webnovel is the commenting feature, so please comment that would be so cooooool
