Using his werewolf form, it didn't take long for Rhyland to get to Aubrey from where he was.

Thankfully, the stairway by the mess hall was always empty during this time of night. So Rhyland didn't have to worry about others coming upon him as he came to Aubrey's rescue.

His heart was pounding.

He had heard her scream and call out his name on the phone before she lost consciousness.

The scream stopped him in his tracks and fear like never before gripped his heart. He had been on his way for dinner with the Council. Yet in his panic, he immediately left his place and transformed into his werewolf form to get to where Aubrey was.

His body moved on its own.

It was as if HE was being compelled by something.

No matter what he can't lose her.

He had to save her.

These were the thoughts driving his actions.

When he got to where Aubrey lay unmoving on the ground, he finally smelled the scent he had been longing for for the past two months.
