Chapitre 44: Chapter 43 - The Devil's Den (5)
Sheila manage to stand back up, as she taken a stance of offense once again. While Damnatio is on the side in defensive stance watching over Sheila. Damnatio sweats profusely looking at Sheila still out for blood and revenge on the demon. Barret just smiles and laughing to his heart content.
"Kekekekeh! Looks like that fool has awoken."
"Hah?! What fool you're talking about bastard!"
Sheila shouted with frustration and anger as her eyes is only filled with bloodlust to kill the demon right in front of her. Damnatio just prepare himself to strike right after Sheila strike, focusing his eyes on Sheila.
"Ya see. I'm not the only demon here."
"What?!"
"They probably thought that it was a low-rank demon, but that fool is actually a mid-rank demon and he is from the 2nd hell. So I guess good luck to those people kekekekeh!"
Sheila became more and more angry, as all she could see on her vision is Barret and only Barret. Sheila began to strike forward thrusting with her rapier, while Damnatio rush forward on the opposite side of Barret.
On the other side, the demon start to scream in high pitch as everyone close their ears. A round single big eye can be seen on it's round featureless head. The big glowing round red eye made everyone stop moving a single muscle. As the demon shriek loudly in high pitch, the demon dig the cave wall with both of its hand and start to slash forward throwing a bunch of rubble to them. Rodney snap out of the fear and put both of his hand on the ground as a big brown magic circle appear in front of him.
[Tier 2 Earth Magic : Mother Earth Protection]
The ground in front of Rodney start to form a wall blocking the demon in front of them completely. As they could hear the rubble hitting the wall, a view second went by with absolutely quiet. Rodney sweats profusely as he slowly calmed down and turn around to look at everyone.
"Is everyone okey?!"
Just as Rodney said that, the wall got busted down as the demon just smiles terrifyingly. Rodney fell to the ground as he seems to lost hope and prepare to die. The demon swipe with its right hand, but before it made contact with Rodney, Hilda jumped in the way. Hilda use her greataxe as a shield to somehow negate some of the damage. But Hilda didn't expect the demon to get stronger as she instantly get flung away hitting the wall hard.
Hilda start to cough up blood just as she hit the wall, creating a crater as big as her on it. Lyron prepare himself as a red magic circle appear right in front of him.
[Tier 2 Fire Magic : Ember Bolt]
A ball of fire launch forward and hit the demon, as it explode upon impact. But the fire didn't seems to effect it by much. Lyron seems to prepare himself for another spell, but the demon went over to Lyron and tries to strike it with its left hand using it like a spear. But before the left hand could stab Lyron all the way through, a brown magic circle appear on right and left side of the cave.
[Tier 2 Earth Magic : Hand Earthling]
Two giant hand made of the cave wall grab onto the demon. It tries to get away forgetting that Rodney is behind it. Rodney with his hammer and some earth forming around it, he began to leap and raise his hammer to the cave ceiling and swing it horizontally. The hammer strike the demon right on the back of its head. The demon shriek in pain as a dent can be seen behind its head.
The demon turn around and use its other hand to swipe on Rodney, but it gave Lyron enough time to cast another spell. A yellow magic circle appear right in front of him as a spark of lighting appear on it.
[Tier 2 Electric Magic : Vine Zap]
A zap of lighting appear from the magic circle, as it latch onto the demon like a vine. The demon got electrocuted on its whole body as it seems to be stunned in place. Hilda get back up and seize the opportunity and strike with her greataxe wildly.
"HAHAHAH! HOW IS THIS YOU DAMN BEAST!"
Hilda kept on slashing, punching, and kicking. Even though Hilda also get electrocuted as she punch and kick, she doesn't seems to care and keep on striking. The demon shriek and scream loudly as the electric vine slowly disappear and the demon destroyed the two golem hand easily. Rodney tries to strike on its back, but catch easily by the demon as it turn around grinning widely.
"YOU'REEEEE DEADDDD!"
The demon uses its other hand to swipe on Rodney, but Hilda catch the hand and hold onto it. Hilda just smiles like a maniac holding onto the demon hand, as Lyron once again focus on himself to cast another spell. Rodney let go of his hammer and went over to the demon legs and hold onto it with all his might.
"NOW MR. LYRON!"
As a giant green magic circle as wide and tall as the cave appear right in front of Lyron. His staff tattoos lit up and the crystal starts to float and it emits a lot of magical ether. As the wind of the room change and start to circle up on one spot.
[Tier 3 Wind Magic : Wind of Nature]
A giant ball of wind start to form on the magic circle. The wind concentrate on one spot, as Lyron release the spell. The ball of wind launch forward and hitting the demon right on the head. The ball of wind going right through the demon head as it keep going and hit the cave ceiling. Upon impact an extreme gust of wind release outward as some of the people get knocked away by the wind.
Just after the wind start to calm down, everyone else start to look at the result. The demon head has gone missing leaving only its body. Lyron goes on one knee as he seems to slowly ran out of ether after casting a lot of spells. Rodney and Hilda start to smile in relieve that the battle ended.
"Is it over...?" Rodney said as he tries to take a deep breath.
Just as Rodney said that, the demon use its right hand that hold Rodney hammer and slam him away. Rodney got knocked away quite far as it leave a trail of blood as he cough up a lot of blood upon the demon strike. Everyone else is gasping and surprise at how the demon is still alive, as the head slowly began to regenerate.
"Dammit... I'm almost out of ether.."
"Don't worry Lyron! I will deal with it!"
The other knights start to get inspire by Lyron, Rodney and Hilda battle and most of them rush forward to the demon. Though the demon just swipe right and left endlessly with its hands as the knight got easily dice up. Fear began to fill their heart again as the demon kept on swiping right and left with its razor sharp hand.
Hilda move forward and take her greataxe, as she stomp on the ground and made a crack on the ground. Hilda start to flex her muscle as slowly the tattoos on her body start to glow. Lyron sweats profusely staring at what Hilda is doing right now.
"WAIT! RIGHT NOW RIGHT HERE?!"
"YES! IT'S OUR ONLY CHANCE TO SURVIVE!"
The tattoos began to lit up glowing in white, the other knights start to back up staring at Hilda. Hilda grit her teeth as her muscle dense up, she grip the greataxe tightly as her eyes also lit up glowing in white shining through the cave as everyone blinded by the glow.
"RELEASE!"
A burst of wind appear as everyone could feel it came from Hilda. Slowly on Hilda body, a bone start to protrude from all over her body. The weapon Hilda hold tightly start to get wrapped by the white bone as it form a bigger, new, and greater weapon. A great axe made off bone entirely, Hilda just smiles excitedly.
"NOW COME AT ME YOU DAMN FREAK!"
The demon head start to form back half way, as the demon smile widely. It seems the demon is excited on what's about to come. The demon charge forward as it flash back to Sheila and Damnatio fight.
"DIE YOU STUPID DEMON!!!"
Sheila dash forward quickly and plunge forward with her rapier, while Damnatio followed up dashing forward on the opposite side of Barret. Barret just smiles excited on what's about to come from both of the 2 mortal fighting him.
"Now this is getting interesting Keh keh keh!"
Sheila plunge forward with her rapier in front of Barret, while Damnatio plunge his rapier behind Barret. Just as both rapier almost touch Barret, Barret easily catch both rapier at the same time. Sheila and Damnatio is shocked, while something or someone is from afar getting closer and closer to both of them...
