"It has begun," Arata muttered, sensing the turbulence of spiritual power throughout Tokyo.
"But it must be admitted that the head of the Kurahashi clan likes to play the role of a good guy," added Arata, feeling a tremendous spiritual force approaching their location, which, judging by its size, should belong to one of the Twelve Divine Generals.
"That guy looks like a Tanuki," Takiko commented, recalling how deceitful and full of tricks that man was.
"It's a perfect description of him," said Arata with a wry smile, as he couldn't find a better description for that man.
"As expected of a mother and son, he looks like a Headmistress," said Arata, smiling sarcastically.
"By the way, won't you intervene?" Takiko asked, pointing to the students who had lost control of the spiritual calamity.
"Not yet," Arata shook his head, with no intention of intervening and stopping the spiritual calamity.
Although the power of the Spiritual Calamity had risen, it was still far from being a true Spiritual Calamity, and with Kyouko, Touji, Harutora, and the others, it should be possible to purify it before it reached full strength.
'But it must be admitted that Dairenji Shidou is a very rare genius,' Arata thought, recalling the method that this person, nicknamed "The Professor," created to control spiritual disasters.
Controlling a spiritual calamity was not an easy thing, and while it wasn't something very difficult and impossible for an ordinary person, Dairenji Shidou managed to create a method that allowed one person to control several spiritual calamities simultaneously.
"Come here Hokuto!!" Natsume exclaimed upon seeing that the teachers and students couldn't control the spiritual calamity.
After Natsume's call, an oriental dragon with yellow scales and red eyes emerged, its length reaching at least 50 meters.
"Hokuto, purify the swamp of evil!!" Natsume commanded, pointing to the source of the spiritual disaster.
"..." - Arata stared at Natsume silently, wondering how she could be so foolish.
Natsume should have known that Hokuto was made of Yin aura and that's why he was like a hearty meal for spiritual disasters. It was foolish to summon him right now, given the number of spiritual disasters surrounding them.
"Sigh~" - Arata let out an annoyed sigh, as he felt that the Nue, which was running towards the east, changed direction towards them upon feeling the Yin aura that Hokuto released.
But it was even better because there was no point if Nue didn't come to their location.
"Are you alright, Touji?" Harutora asked worriedly as he looked at Touji, knowing that being at the site of a spiritual disaster might have triggered a ghoul within him.
"No problem," Touji said, reassuring Harutora that his seals were working perfectly and preventing the ghoul from affecting his mind.
"It's good to hear that," Harutora said with relief, but soon noticed Touji's expression change. "Did something happen?"
"Everyone get out of here quickly!!" - Touji shouted, clearly nervous about something.
"What happened Ato?" A nearby teacher asked upon seeing Touji's concern.
"There is a Nue approaching, and it must be from phase three," - Arata replied to the teacher's question, as it was impossible for the teacher to sense a Nue from such a distance.
As for Touji, he could sense Nue from a great distance because he was Namanari.
"What!!" - the teacher shouted, unable to believe his ears because the presence of Nue from phase three was enough to kill everyone present - "Everyone run quickly and be sure to contact the Exorcism Bureau."
"Looks like it's too late," said Arata, standing next to Kyouko to protect her.
Booooom*
As soon as Arata finished speaking, Nue jumped in the middle of everyone and caused a big hole in the road.
"Everybody run away, I'll stop him here," the teacher in charge ordered the rest of the teachers.
"But..." - one of the teachers wanted to object but was interrupted by the teacher in charge.
"You idiot!! Hurry up and evacuate with the students, or we will be exterminated!" The teacher in charge shouted, clearly intending to sacrifice his life.
"Rooooooar!!" - Nue let out a roar imbued with the spiritual power of a phase three Spiritual Calamity.
Everyone fell under the immense pressure from the Spiritual Force, and more than half were unable to move.
"..." - As for Arata, this amount of spiritual pressure had no effect on him, and he continued to watch Harutora to see the effects of the experience.
Indeed, this was an experiment to observe Harutora's reaction when directly pressured by a phase three spiritual calamity.
Unfortunately, there was no immediate reaction, but that did not mean that he couldn't come up with any reaction.
Even an ordinary Onmyouji's spiritual strength would increase greatly if they suffered a spiritual calamity and survived, which was the least that could happen.
That's why it was too early to conclude that there was no reaction, especially since Nue from phase three was still releasing great spiritual power, pressing on Harutora's soul.
"Don't move" - Arata whispered and used the Spirit Language on the teacher in charge, preventing him from using a Spell to stop Nue's roar.
"Are you alright, Kyouko?" - Arata asked his childhood friend and helped her stand up properly, not stopping Nue's roar because it might be useful for her to a certain extent.
Arata did not intend to endanger Kyouko, so he would assist her when she reached her limit.
"I can still hold on" - Kyouko replied in a tired voice, as staying under such pressure was no joke.
Soon, the less talented students began to fall one after another due to Nue's roar.
"Hokuto!! , Stop him" - Natsume exclaimed as she bit her lower lip with worry.
Hearing Natsume's order, Hokuto didn't hesitate and charged towards Nue, using his massive body.
Booooom*
Hokuto's collision with Nue caused another explosion, but thanks to this, Nue's roar was stopped, giving the students a moment to catch their breath.
"Sigh~, that girl is really annoying," - Arata muttered inaudibly as he looked at Natsume and released the restraint on the responsible teacher using Spirit Language.
"Order!!" Once he was freed from the Spirit Language's restraint, the teacher in charge didn't care about the strangeness of the situation and cast a Spell on Nue to protect the students.
"Hakuou, Kokufu go" - Kyouko ordered her Shikigami to join the battle.
Upon hearing their lady's command, two Shikigami Model G2 Yaksha charged towards Nue and struck him with their spears without hesitation.
Seeing Hakuou and Kokufu's attack, Nue didn't hesitate to jump to avoid their blows as he was in no position to take any more injuries.
"Let's see what a bunch of kids can do with my prey," - an annoying voice came out, causing everyone to turn to the source - "There's even a live dragon here."
In front of them stood a man who appeared to be around twenty years old, skinny, with an almost sharply angled chin and short silver hair. He wore sunglasses with silver lenses, several piercings in his ears, and a fur-collared jacket adorned with a sparkling necklace and a belt decorated with silver rivets. Silver chains hung from his jeans, and he wore bright, polished engineer boots.
A scar on his forehead formed an 'X.'
"Ogre Eater!!" - The teacher in charge exclaimed in surprise and caution upon seeing the newcomer.
"Oh, old man, don't you dare call me that again," said the man, who looked like a gangster, haughtily. He continued, "I have a name, Kagami Reiji."
"If you talk to me, one of the Twelve Divine Generals, like this, I will..." - Reiji said menacingly, pointing his finger at the teacher in charge - "I will kill you."
Roooooar*
Suddenly, Nue roared again, trying to escape while everyone was preoccupied.
"Shut up" - commanded Reiji using his Spirit Language, causing Nue to be unable to roar.
Seeing that his plan didn't work, Nue didn't hesitate and jumped onto a nearby building, intending to escape.
"Tsk, Namah sarva tatha gatebhyah sarva" - Reiji clicked his tongue in annoyance, seeing that Nue was trying to run away, and started using Incantation: Fire Realm Magic at high speed.
Once he finished the Incantation: Fire Realm Magic, Reiji was surrounded by flames and sped towards Nue, who was running down the building.
"Roooooar!!" Nue let out a painful roar due to the fire and fell to the ground.
"Order!!" - Arata commanded and cast a spell that created a barrier around him and Kyouko to protect them from the fallen Nue.
Nue and the falling rubble collided with Arata's barrier and then fell to the ground without affecting the barrier. However, due to the force of the fall, dust spread everywhere, blocking the view of others from Arata and Kyouko.
"Kurahashi, Tsuchimikado, are you okay?" - the in-charge teacher exclaimed with concern evident in his voice.
He was worried as a teacher, but he was also afraid that something would happen to the heirs of the Tsuchimikado clan and Kurahashi clan. If something happened to them, even if he got out of there alive, he wouldn't guarantee his survival after their families found out.
"Kurahashi, Tsuchimikado" Reiji murmured carefully upon hearing the teacher in charge call out these names.
"We're fine, Sensei," Kyouko replied as she and Arata walked out from the dust and smoke.
"Are you the heir of the Tsuchimikado family?" Reiji asked, staring at Arata provocatively.
"That's right," said Arata, staring back at Reiji with narrowed eyes.
"So, you're the one who's said to have as much strength as our Twelve Divine Generals, and besides, you're the reincarnation of Yakou," Reiji said with a disgusted smile as he approached Arata, examining him from head to toe. "Although nothing is certain."
"What do you want?" - Arata asked coldly, not in the mood to engage with someone like Reiji.
"What's that way of talking, huh?" - Reiji said with obvious annoyance and tried to poke Arata with his finger but was surprised when he lost feeling in his finger and felt pain instead.
"Don't try to touch Master, you bug" - said a sweet but cold voice, followed by the appearance of Shiro, staring at Reiji with killing intent.
"Who are you, you bitch?" - Reiji asked cautiously, keeping his distance from Shiro, who exuded obvious danger.
Although he was angry about losing his finger, he followed his instincts that this woman was too dangerous. He stepped back to assess the situation.
'Am I afraid of this bitch?' - Reiji thought in disbelief as he noticed how his body trembled with fear.
Booooom*
The place where Reiji was standing exploded, and there was a Black Flame blazing violently, as if trying to devour everything into ashes.
Everyone who saw the Black Flame was terrified and couldn't wait to flee because they felt that they would be reduced to ashes, and not even ashes would remain from the heat the Black Flame released.
