-Wellston High School-
[John's P.O.V]
The week went by as usual with little to nothing happening, I wanted to familiarise myself with the place and everyone now knew who I was thanks to the incident with Seraphina.
It was probably about time I laid my claim to the throne, having their possibility to claim the abilities of the rest of the royals and accelerate their growth would be a game changer.
Since I might need to get them involved too.
Of course there, is a reason they got involved in the first place.
For Remi, it was the death of her brother Rei who died at the hands of Ember while being a vigilante.
For Blyke and Isen, it was initially just to help Remi. And then Blyke went on his own to become stronger due to feeling inadequately strong enough to protect his friends from me.
For Seraphina, well she was roped into Spectre against her will, with Arlo helping her and then realizing after so many attempts to convince him, that Ember and the authorities were in fact, connected.
I had bought two masks, one that I would use to act as a vigilante and the other for when I would create my own faction.
"Hi there, have you seen Arlo around here," I asked one of the people walking around.
"S-sorry, I haven't seen him around lately." He replied somewhat fearfully.
"Oh... ok, I see," I answered dejectedly.
Arlo and I were in the same class and we had met quite a few times this week.
Though, this time I had absolutely no idea where he was.
Oh wait there he is... I finally found him.
The blonde-haired king was walking peacefully in the corridors with his back turned on me whilst everyone else made sure to steer clear from his path.
"Hey Arlo, I need to talk to you for a second." I quickly called him out
He turned around to see me.
"Hi John, how can I help you," the tall hierarchy-lover addressed me.
"Well you see, I wanted to challenge you to a ranked match for your title as King. Thought it would be about time I gunned for the position.
"So soon?"
"Yup, surprised? Or are you nervous?"
"No not at all. Very well, let's meet up next Monday at the entrance since we have the same class. I'll get Seraphina, and the others to watch.
We'll do it on wellston's turf war grounds."
"Fine by me," I nodded. "You're taking it surprisingly well," I noted.
"You're not the only one to have challenged me over my two year long reign. An extra person wanting to fight me won't change anything," He stated as a matter of fact.
He really thinks I'm like all the others huh? Cocky, but I can't fault him. God tiers like him are pretty rare.
"Well I'm not like the others. By the way Arlo not to be mean or anything or to taunt you, but cherish your last few days as King."
"You've got quite the mouth on you, we'll see if you can back it up
"Of course I can back my statements up, I'm a 9.0!" I affirmed proudly.
"Can you repeat that? You're what..."
"A 9.0..."
"..."
"There isn't really any need for a ranked match then. We'll still fight though, it's been a while since I fought someone so much stronger than me," he insisted.
"Just say you don't believe me," I deadpanned at him.
"..."
"Anyway what's our next class..." I interrogated him.

While leaving for home happilly as it was now the weekend, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.
*Bzzz**Bzzz*
I checked it for any messages or important notifications.

Claire: Do u guys want to go to the mall with me?
John: Sure but I'm m not very high on funds so only if you're paying
Adrion: Same here
Adrion: On that note
Adrion I got to start looking for that part time job
John: #relatable
Claire: lol
Claire: sucks to be u guys
Adrion: 😞stop rubbing it in pls
Adrion: Miss "all I need to do is have good grades"
John: Daddy's money
Adrion: 💀
Claire: 😭
Claire: Btw I brought Elia
John: When are you going there?
Claire: I'm waiting for you guys atm
Claire: I'm at Kovoro Mall
Adrion: Already? Ok np
John: Yh
John: Cya later

(A few minutes later)
-Kovoro mall-
[Narrator's P.O.V]
"Hey Claire!" John waved at her.
"Took you guys long enough to get here, let's go."
"So where are we heading first,"
"Well I looked around for some places and I found this nice shop, it's called Andy's fashion boutique." Claire informed.
"Oh... ok, quick reminder I ain't paying for all that. I know how you... operate remember that," John disclaimed.
"Why would I go into a mall if I'm broke?" Claire questioned like John was stupid.
"I don't know, it just seems like something you would do too," Adrion fired.
Everyone other than him and Claire laughed hard.
"Bro you gotta chill, go easy on her man. You just roasted her alive," John said while laughing.
"Ooh, a 'lame' shirt," he continued,"I'm getting that."
"..."
"Your taste in fashion little weird if you don't mind," Elia butted in.
"So I've been told, I ain't stopping anytime soon though."
This went on for the next few hours until in was roughly 9 pm, with the groups of four calling it a day and returning to their respective dorm rooms, or house in John's case.
It wouldn't be the end of the night for our main character though...
