Chapitre 281: Date Ends
"What are you saying?" However, Nobara didn't understand his words.
He may have godly powers, he can stop time, heal her from certain death, mix illusion and reality, cook otherworldy food, and she was sure that he could do way more than she could understand. But, at the end of the day, she couldn't see him any other way.
"You seem human to me," Nobara didn't doubt that.
In a way, she doubted whether he was 8000 years old. But when he said his age he was serious—more serious than she had seen him before—so she couldn't question it. Even then, she saw him up close in the small amount of time he was around, so Nobara knew at least a good part of him.
'He has a sense of responsibility and very sincere about what he does. Has a good attitude and I know that he has many problems of his own but still tries to go with what I wanted, in a way he doesn't seem anything but a human.' Though Nobara's view of what was human or not was quite different from most, even then she felt that it was alright.
"You think so?" She nodded at his question.
Even now she can't look at him any other way, the slight surprise in his eyes and the awkward laughs he gave sometimes.
"If someone says otherwise bring him here, I'll knock their brain in place." Nobara knew that this view of hers wouldn't change even in the future.
"I'll do that, thank you." Adam smiled.
"…It's nothing." That smile seemed a lot different from before, she looked away and cleared her throat.
'I know he's good-looking, but that was something. Did my eyes go bad or something?' That image was now stuck in her head, she had more questions but now they all vanished.
"Then should we continue our date tomorrow?" Adam brought Nobara out of her thoughts. They have done enough today so the rest can be done the next day.
"I'll get the list ready so you better be prepared," Nobara smirked.
Adam said that he could take her anywhere, so she'd visit the places she wanted to for real. When he nodded her mood went higher than the moon in the sky.
Tomorrow will be awesome. She slept with that thought in her mind.
But, the next day turned out to be way better than she thought. Visiting Italy just to try authentic Pizza and pasta, bought whatever she liked from the luxury brands across France, stopped by Switzerland briefly for some expensive chocolates, and at last, she even stopped by Brazil to try some drinks she saw online. There wasn't a continent she didn't go to in that grand tour that day, with Adam the travel time got cut to nothing and they always arrived at the spot. Everything else went smoothly too as she never had to stop in a line or care about exhaustion.
Right now, she roamed the streets of America for some street food she saw on SNS before this. Whenever she saw a video of a place she liked, Nobara saved the video with the idea of visiting there one day. The place they walked out of now, turned out to be one of those.
"That pizza had too much pepperoni!" Nobara's stomach felt heavy after their last stop here.
"Didn't they warn you about it? Also, you only ate one slice." Adam had to eat the rest so it shouldn't be that problematic.
"Yes yes, I know. Let's go and get something sweet again. I don't think I can take this." Nobara scrolled through her phone and showed Adam a gelato place she wanted to visit next.
"Alright," Adam said with a sigh, he had to eat a lot of gimmicky food that went viral of social media because Nobara wouldn't eat more than a bite regardless of the taste. Why?
"The calories are high but the taste is average. You messed with my taste buds dammit!" Nobara wanted to poke Adam's eyes with her chopsticks, the best soup dumplings ended up tasting like soggy dough filled with meat that tasted like mud.
"Thanks for the compliment I suppose." Adam laughed.
"Argh! I am so pissed!" Nobara ate a few more and was about to stand up, but Adam gave her another plate that had the soup dumplings he made.
She sat down again and started to eat without a word, this time with a big smile. This type of situation arose from the sudden rise in the quality of the food she had in the past few days. After eating such dishes, it was only natural that normal food would taste like wet paper and dry grass to her.
But more than the taste, the main reason Nobara enjoyed his dishes was because she could eat without worrying about the calorie intake. The taste was but a bonus for her. Because even without the calories the food could provide her the necessary nutrients needed. Nobara didn't understand what sorcery this was, but it was the best sorcery she had seen.
'With a little time, she will get over that wall.' Adam thought taking her to Germany.
Here, she lived through the life of a Queen in a German castle that has a thousand-year history. The place lined up with tens of servants at her beck and call. The place worked entirely like it would for the royalty, just more extravagant thanks to him.
Adam had spent a good amount of time in such a setting in the other world in his initial years, so this was easy to set up from his memories. And Nobara's bubbling curiosity about how the royals lived back in the back resulted in this.
"Why are you walking behind?" She stared at him. If Nobara was the Queen he was supposed to be the Prince consort according to the setting.
"It is nothing Your Majesty, I apologize for the inconvenience." He said but she blinked with a weird look on her face.
"What's with that way of speaking?" Nobara didn't expect him to go that deep into the play.
"I thought you'd like it 'cause it fits the mood," His words made her sigh, but soon she laughed.
"You're really so dumb... Come on let's see what this thing is about." Another one of Nobara's wishes as a kid was to live like royalty. Why? Because she wanted to, she thought it was cool to be a princess.
'It is such a mismatch with her personality…' Adam couldn't understand it either, so he decided to stop asking.
"That wasn't as good as I thought it would be…" But, the first thing she said at the end of this long day didn't sound good.
Traveling was fun and all, but she didn't enjoy the food along the way. She looked forward to food the most after all. Living the royal life also didn't do much for her, in the end, she spent the day playing Smash Bros with Adam. But she enjoyed the experience and knew she'd never do it again.
"Living like royalty isn't suited for most people. It is mostly burdensome." Adam said. He expected such a reaction at the end.
"You have been through that?" Nobara's ears perked up.
With his age and power, it was possible for him to live in these castles when the real rulers were around.
"Yeah, but I didn't like it."
"How bad was it?" Noticing the heavy sigh she wanted to know more about it as this sounded like a fun story.
"Felt like I was lying on a bed of nails."

Busy with irl shenanigans.
