Chapitre 7: Onodera and her sister.

"After a brief period of time, the Sorata novel was published in the magazine and instantly became a massive success due to its captivating story.

The readers were left in suspense at the scene where Subaru was killed by having his stomach split open. The novel, generated by the system, was of exceptionally high quality, enabling the readers to vividly imagine the detailed scenes.

As a result, a new literary genius was warmly welcomed into the Sakura Dormitory.

Chihiro, who had promised to read the novel with Sorata, eagerly requested access to the remaining chapters, hoping to be the first to experience the enthralling story after enjoying the opening chapter.

Sorata had been enjoying some good days, working on his novel in the dormitory and engaging in playful banter with Nanami.

From the outside, his life appeared comfortable, thanks to his social circle and the money he had saved.

However, ever since an unexpected system upgrade four days ago, Sorata had a strong intuition that something extremely dangerous was about to unfold. Although he possessed limited knowledge about it, he couldn't shake off the feeling.

"I'm just being practical about the system, and even without it, I can make a wonderful living with my business expertise," Sorata sighed as he strolled over to a park bench and sat down.

Yet deep inside, he realized that what he lacked in this life was a genuine purpose and desire; his initial drive had stemmed from the system.

"Kid, what's on your mind?" Suddenly, a tall man with blond hair and a beard, sporting an impressive muscular build, appeared beside Sorata.

"Wow, those muscles are truly impressive."

"Haha! Yes, I've trained them since my childhood and achieved this physique when I turned 40."

The old man seemed to possess a wealth of stories, captivated by Sorata's seemingly vacant eyes despite his young age.

Sorata's words left the elderly man feeling a slight sense of emptiness.

"That's truly amazing, unlike me, who has had little purpose and has been wandering aimlessly," the elderly man confessed.

"If you don't have anything, then you can create something for yourself," the elder suggested, glancing at Sorata.

His words sparked a new light in Sorata's eyes as he decided to envision an outrageous scenario for himself.

"Hmm! You're observant and quick; have you already found something?" the elder asked, and Sorata nodded.

"I will embark on a journey..." Sorata said aloud and continued his thoughts, 'through all the dimensions within the entire multiverse.'

"Good, that's a great starting point. Begin on a smaller scale and gradually expand," the elder advised, walking away. Sorata observed the tall figure moving slowly, yet his walking speed exceeded that of a jog.

"Haha, that old man is truly an extraordinary human, isn't he?"

Sorata got up and headed towards Sakura Dormitory after catching a glimpse of the fading figure.

Along the way, he noticed a familiar sweet shop and decided to stop by.

"Onodera Japanese Sweets Confections" – the shop's name was written in large letters.

As Sorata read the name, he spotted a familiar sight: a modestly dressed yet stunning young woman exiting the store, holding a broom.

"Ah, a customer." She approached him with a smile on her face, and Sorata overheard her muttering as he greeted her formally.

"Good evening, Onodera-san." She was a fellow student from his school, and it seemed that the Nisekoi setting, featuring Raku Ichijo, was absent in this world where he had never heard about it from others.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't recognize you," Onodera said, her face slightly reddening with embarrassment.

Sorata offered a reassuring smile and replied, "That's alright. I was a bit of a wallflower in class, and only a couple of my friends used to talk to me." As Sorata mentioned his interest in the sweet shop, Onodera's eyes lit up with excitement.

She invited him inside, and they settled down for a delightful chat, accompanied by a warm cup of tea.

Just as they were engrossed in conversation, a sudden burst of energy filled the room.

It was Haru, Onodera's younger sister, who rushed in and glanced at Sorata and her sister before dashing out again.

Sorata couldn't help but notice her adorable presence. He complimented both Onodera sisters, causing their cheeks to turn a delicate shade of pink.

Haru, who had been eavesdropping outside the room, entered with a tray of snacks.

Onodera greeted her with affection, saying, "Haru, it's about time you came back to us." Haru offered a quiet apology to her sister and Sorata, her gaze occasionally flickering toward Sorata, who couldn't help but feel a touch of unease, knowing how fiercely protective Haru was of her sister.

"She's just a little girl who adores her sister. I don't need to be cautious around her," Sorata thought as he reached for one of the cookies Haru had brought. However, he was met with an unexpected taste.

"Woah, this is the first time I've tried a spicy cookie like this," Sorata remarked, his taste buds accustomed to even the most peculiar flavors from his past life experiences.

Undeterred by the spice, he consumed the cookie with a determined expression, surprising both Haru and Onodera.

"Oh no, Haru! Why did you bring it here? This is something I made!" Onodera exclaimed, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, trying to take the spicy treat away from Sorata.

He looked a bit perplexed by the sudden turn of events but held onto a piece while offering the rest to them.

"Sorata-san, don't eat that. It's really not good," Onodera cautioned, worried about Sorata's taste buds.

"Hmm, why is that? It's just salty and spicy instead of sweet. I don't think it's bad or something to be ashamed of," Sorata replied, his adventurous palate unbothered by the unconventional flavor.

Even Haru, silently observing, was astonished at Sorata's nonchalant response, wondering if there was something peculiar about his taste buds.

"You see, I'm not a picky eater, and it's not good to waste food. So if you were thinking of throwing it away, give it to me," Sorata said with a smile.

Onodera couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head at the situation. She explained that whenever her sweets didn't turn out as expected, she would often feed them to animals, who seemed to enjoy them without any issue.

Sorata nodded, understanding her predicament.

This reminded him of a particular sweet he had encountered in a past life, one that held a special place in his memories.

He even had the recipe for it and thought about sharing it with the Onodera sisters, curious to see their reaction to a unique taste from another world.

And so, amidst laughter, shared snacks, and the pleasant aroma of tea, Sorata found himself becoming more entwined with the Onodera sisters.

In their company, he discovered a sense of happiness, as he thought how a man can never hate being accompanied by beautiful girls like them.
