Chapitre 4: Fed up

Peter locked his locker. His sense picked up various noises but he was adjusting his strength.

Flash from the other side threw a basketball at Peter. Peter frowned.

He caught the ball from hitting his head and turned around. " Stop it, Flash. This is getting childish. "

He said. Flash was surprised. The Peter he knew would never stand up. So he laughed off that joke.

"Childish! Bookworm is saying those words. " Flash came forward to Peter. He stared down at him.

Peter decided to ignore the words and headed to the class. But he was grabbed by Flash.

" Let's go. " Peter said.

Flash shook his head. " No. "

Peter grabbed Flash's hand and with a newfound strength, he easily removed the hands.

Flash grabbed his hand and yelled. " Ahh. Grab him. " He said to his friends.

The fatty one bear hugged Peter. And Flash tried to punch them in the stomach.

Peter broke off the hug with ease. He elbowed the fatty and dodged Flash's punch. And with a quick movement, he threw a punch at Flash's face.

Broking his nose, blood dripping from his nostril.

Peter looked at his hand, amazed by his strength at the same time scared. He did not mean to hurt Flash. He only wanted to free himself.

" Oh my, what is going on? " One of the teachers saw what happened and yelled.

After learning the truth, the principal gave Peter one week and Flash 10 days. Peter walked outside the school.

He saw Uncle Ben's car. He walked toward the car and opened the door.

" So what happens? " Uncle Ben asked. He wanted to know the story from his son rather than the teacher.

Peter only looked at the seat. " Nothing. It's just I broke someone's nose. "

" Why? "

" Because he tried to punch me and I got carried on. "

Uncle Ben nodded. " How do you feel about it? "

"Scared and joy. "

Uncle Ben tilted his head. " Care to explain? "

" I am scared because I don't want others to think of me as a monster or freak. And for the first time, I managed to stand up myself. "

" That is a valid reason but what you did to that kid was wrong. "

"What's wrong? He is a dick. " Peter yelled for the first time. He felt like Uncle Ben was dissatisfied with his action.

" But you can't respond like this. You need to man up yourself. Not with a fist and strength but more about mentality. "

" So what? I am gonna get beat up by him. " Peter snorted.

" You are a kind kid Peter. You just need to express that kindness to others. Don't let your anger overwhelm your kindness. "

" So what should I do? " Peter said. " Just stay there and get beat up. I had to fight back because that is what they wanted me to do. " Peter opened the door and walked away.

He didn't want to hear anything. Today is a bad day. Uncle Ben called him out but Peter ran away.

Peter was looking at the skateboarding playground. Numerous kids were playing. He was sitting on the chair and reflecting on himself.

Maybe he was wrong like Uncle Ben said. But what should he do in that situation? He didn't know because he didn't listen to Uncle Ben's words.

But he was right because they treated him poorly so he treated them back the same. Nothing wrong with that but he hated it.

He hated the fact that he caused trouble for Uncle Ben.

As the hours passed, the transition from day to night began its gradual transformation. The sun, inch by inch, descended toward the horizon.

The world, in the late afternoon, bathed in a warm and hazy light.

As the sun sank lower, the colours of the sky transformed further.

He didn't hear the sound of children anymore. The sky, now painted in deep blues and purples, revealed the first twinkling stars that emerged like tiny diamonds scattered across an ebony canopy.

He stood up. " I guess it is time to go home and apologize to Uncle Ben. "

He walked his way to home.

The soft glow of streetlights illuminated the cobblestone paths, casting an ethereal ambience upon the cityscape. Shadows danced and flickered, weaving tales of mystery and intrigue.

As Peter meandered along, his gaze caught the gleam of moonlight reflecting off a storefront window. His steps faltered as he noticed the shattered glass and the disarray within.

A sense of unease settled in his chest, urging him to investigate further.

Drawing nearer, his heart skipped a beat as he caught sight of the thief. He saw the man's face clear holding a gun in his hand stuffing the money.

The thief opened the door and ran in his direction. The store owner came out with a sword. " Catch him. The gun is probably fake. "

Peter ignored the yell and stepped outside the thief's way.

The thief looked in his direction and said. " Thank. "

Peter didn't feel anything about the fact that he let go of the thief. With his strength, he could have caught it easily but he didn't want to use it right now after all that happening.

This act made him a bit bitter toward himself.

So he wandered around the city for a bit.

" Look at the sky. "

" A Giant Bird! "

Nearby people were yelling at the sky. Peter looked up and saw a faint human flying in the sky wearing a green bird suit.

' This must be a Vulture. ' He thought to himself.

Remembering Uncle Ben's joke about taking pictures of Vulture.

' They must be worried. ' Peter thought.

As he walked toward his home, his ears picked up a siren. ' What is going on? '

He ran toward his home.

Police were in front of his home with yellow tape. A few police tried to stop him but he brushed them odd with ease.

" Uncle Ben. Aunt May. " He called out opening the door.

Aunt May was sitting on the couch answering the police. She saw Peter enter the house.

She stood up. Peter ran toward her and hugged her.

" What is going on, Aunt May? " He asked with worry-filled.

He smiled blood from the back. The police besides them explained.

" Some guy tried to escape and entered inside the backyard and Ben tried to confront him but was shot in the chest five times. "

Those words hit Peter.

' No, it can't be. He was alive for a few hours ago. ' He murmured inside. He wanted to cry but Aunt May is here.

He turned around and said. " And the killer. "
