*Once upon a younger year~*

*When all our shadows disappeared~*

*The animals inside came out to play~*

The song from my party playlist blared into my ears, my lips unconsciously mouthing the words in chorus.

My Jeep roared through the woods, the only light for a mile focusing in and out of the moving trees. My hair gently waved in the breeze, a chill spread through my forehead and somehow it kept me calm, like my problems were not there anymore.

But it was an illusion, a lie and I hated it.

I glanced at the empty road, the main street unusually deserted for a city night. Usually, even during curfew, there would be a car or two, but tonight? Not a soul.

It gave me a sense of eerie tranquility mixed with a hint of impending doom. You know, that feeling in the pit of your stomach that screams disaster if you're not vigilant.

My gaze shifted to the case of beer, acquired with a fake ID, and the whiskey I "borrowed" from my dad's stash. Doubt he'd notice, he's hardly ever home anyway. And even if he did, he probably wouldn't care.

As the Jeep emerged from the forest road and descended toward the docks, the wheels screeched to a halt beside Amber's black Porsche.

I stepped out, eyeing the lone illuminated yacht at the far end of the dock.

Things like these are what makes me realize Amber's parents are millionaires.

I picked the liquor and headed towards them.

Amber lounged on the stairs, glued to her phone, while Tara sprawled on the top deck, lost in stargazing.

"Hey!" I yelled earning their attention. "Who's ready for some party!!"

Amber chuckled as she stood up, revealing herself in a shoulderless pink top, covering only below her chest and leaving her waist unprotected, with a short brown skirt that covered just a bit of her thighs leaving a lot for my imagination.

With her black hair flowing freely, she was an absolute feast for the eyes. As I climbed into the yacht I couldn't help but complement.

"Wow.." I muttered out loud. "You look…"

"Hot?" Amber asked with a smirk. Her siren eyes narrowed sharply.

"That too but I was about to say beautiful." I finished.

"Oh.." She blushed as she slowly stepped forward, her hand placed on my chest as she closed in. "Thanks Stiley."

"Almost fetching." I whispered. Our eyes inch away as our breaths mingled.

"You can fetch me if you want." She said, tucking her flowing hair behind her ear. Knowing full well what she was doing.

"Don't say things you can't back up, Ambie." I replied.

"Back up? Is that how you want me tonight?" She asked, biting her lower lip as her nails trailed my chest sensually.

*Cough- Cough-*

We both stepped away as Tara climbed down, she was wearing long flowing black trousers with a tank top that had a pattern of cuts on the side. Her brown hair tied to a messy bun, revealing her narrow, spotless back of her neck.

"Tara, you look gorgeous." I remarked.

If Amber was giving off a stunning hot siren vibe, Tara was an enticing dark priestess.

"Thanks, Stiles." She replied blandly. "Let's get going, shall we?"

"Of course." Amber exclaimed, clapping excitedly as she dashed toward the Captain's cabin. "Let's take her for a spin."

"Aye Aye, Captain." I mockingly saluted as she started the engines. I settled on the deck and cracked open a beer, Tara sat next to me, our shoulders brushing against each other. I passed her the bottle before opening one for myself.

"Cheers."

We clinked our beers and took a swig together as the yacht slowly slipped out of the docks and headed toward the sea.

[General Pov]

The ball struck all the pins, scattering them with a resounding crash as it found its mark in the pit.

"Somebody brought their A-game." Lydia cheered as Allison gracefully made her way back to the benches.

Allison shrugged off the praise with a modest smile.

"Good job." Scott chimed in nervously.

"Thanks." Allison replied tersely, cutting off any further conversation.

Jackson rose from the bench, picking up a ball as Scott struggled to contain his jittery feet.

Spinning the ball expertly, Jackson sent it hurtling toward the pins, scoring a perfect strike.

"Whoo, yes!" Lydia exclaimed, her joy infectious.

Jackson returned to the bench with a satisfied smirk, wrapping his arm around Lydia.

"Your turn, McCall." He taunted, sharing a challenging look with Lydia.

Allison sighed, sparing Scott a brief glance as he reluctantly stood and approached the lane.

Awkwardly selecting a ball, Scott faced the pins, his breaths coming in heavy gasps. He stole a glance at Allison, who avoided his eyes, adding to the discomfort.

"Shit." He muttered under his breath before releasing the ball.

It veered off course almost immediately, missing the pins entirely.

Jackson chuckled at Scott's misfortune as he slunk back to the benches.

"Don't be mean, Jackson." Lydia scolded gently, but Jackson couldn't suppress his laughter.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He apologized between laughs. "I'm just reminded of the words 'I'm a great bowler.'"

"Maybe he just needs to warm up." Lydia suggested, shooting Jackson a pointed look. "Isn't that right, Scott?"

Caught off guard, Scott's mind wandered for a moment before he snapped back to reality.

"Huh?" He blurted out before catching Allison's gaze. "Yeah, that's right."

"Maybe he just needs bumpers." Jackson quipped.

The next round arrived, and once again, it was Scott's turn.

Standing before the pins, he silently pleaded, "Just one pin, please."

The ball rolled down the lane, and Scott watched with bated breath, Jackson watching eagerly.

It seemed destined for success, aligned perfectly with the pins, but just inches away, it lost momentum and veered into the gutter.

"Ha! Great job, McCall." Jackson jeered. "You're a pro."

Scott trudged back to the benches in frustration, but Allison intercepted him, her expression stern.

"Scott, can I talk to you for a moment?" She asked, her tone more statement than question.

"S-sure." Scott stammered, following her to a vending machine at the far end of the corridor.

Closing her eyes briefly, Allison took a deep breath before fixing him with a steady gaze.

"Scott, what are you doing?" She asked, her voice tinged with exasperation.

"I'm... I'm bowling?" He replied uncertainly.

Allison rolled her eyes, her frustration evident. "Stop it, Scott."

"Allison, I'm sorry for standing you up at Lydia's party, but it was out of my control." He offered.

"Scott, it's not just about the party, and it's not about you." She sighed. "I'm not interested, please understand."

"Allison, you know we both had a spark." Scott pleaded.

"We did." She admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "But that was all it was, Scott."

Scott's heart sank at her words, a sense of finality settling over him like a shroud.

"But I don't want it to be just that." He confessed.

Allison's gaze softened at his words, a flicker of sympathy in her eyes.

"I know." She replied gently, her voice a soothing balm against the ache in his heart. "But I'm sorry, Scott."

With those words hanging in the air between them, Allison turned and walked away, leaving Scott standing alone in the empty corridor, his heart heavy.
