Valerie's POV

I must be dreaming, right? Someone, please tell me that all these are only bad, terrible dreams. As long as I can recall, I only see Herod in my dreams. Moreover, my heart beat increased, and I pitched my laps to confirm that it was in the dream, but to my surprise, I felt the pain.

To be frank, all this is confounding to me, how on earth is Herod in my room and that too with a gun? How did he get here? Where is Christine?

"My beautiful darling damsel, are you surprised to see me here?" He said with a smile.

Once upon a time, that smile used to brighten up my world. It was what I wished for with each passing day-to see him smile, but now whenever he does my heart begins to pound rapidly against my rib cage as it is for no good.

"You won't welcome your uncle, right?" He said as he walked towards me, and I couldn't help it any longer.
