Oden sat on the roof of his mansion and looked down on his district.
It had been a while since he had killed Orochimaru. Jiraiya and Naruto had left for their training and won't be back for two years.
'Was it two or three years?' Oden thought he couldn't remember how long the time skip was for.
Oden had plans for gaining even more strength during these two years, but something troublesome had happened to him making him frown more lately.
His fame had even skyrocketed more. He would not be surprised if his name was the most famous throughout the lands right now, at least in Konoha, his name was even in higher prestige than the second, third and fifth Hokage.
Maybe the first and the fourth can rival Oden's popularity in Konoha as those two were considered a public favourite.
All these are fine and dandy on paper, but practically, it's not something Oden enjoys as he feels like a celebrity. He can't even enjoy his favourite dango at the shop anymore.
"Migoto, I'm taking Hinata on a two week trip, I'll leave the clan to you." Oden said.
Suddenly, Migoto appeared behind Oden and bowed slightly.
"Also, if any more fan letters come, just use the letters as fuel for warming the mansion." Oden said.
Oden felt that he had to clarify that as he found that Migoto had collected all his fan letters and hung them on a wall. Every now and then Migoto would stand in front of the wall and grin as if he had created Frankenstein's monster.
Oden flashed away and appeared beside Hinata that was gardening.
"Yeep" She cried out slightly as he suddenly appeared beside her.
"Hinata, were going on a honey trip." Oden said.
"Wha, when?" She asked, not ready for him to suddenly say that.
"Now."
"N-Now?! But what about my missions?" She asked, she couldn't just leave without telling anyone.
"Don't worry about that, I'll send someone to tell your Sensei to give you a two week break. Oden said with a smile.
"Be ready before the zenith of the sun." Oden said and flashed away.
He appeared in his office to finish some final papers before taking the break.
Oden looked down at his hands and clenched them.
'So this is power... real power. in my former life, I had to work my ass off for the majority of my free time. And whenever I did something great, my team leader got all the recognition for it. And if I wanted to take a break, I had to ask my boss one month prior. Even then, He might deny my break... But now, I can take a break whenever I want, and no one will dare to say anything.... This is real power.... Even Madara worked hard for the last dozens of years without a break...' Oden thought.
"Yes... Even Madara is beneath me..." Oden whispered in a half serious way, making fun of his former life. But Oden was unaware that Migoto and Mina had heard his whisper.
Mina looked excitedly at Migoto, and he looked back at her. Even though their ages were ancient, their eyes reflected youthful hopefulness at this moment.
"Did you hear that? He was even looking down on that monster Madara!"Mina whispered slightly.
"Yes .. yes, it's finally happening, the world will be underneath his feet." Migoto said with a grin.
"Madara who? Even Hashirama is not worth the young master's fart!" Mina exclaimed!
Even though they were hiding in the shadows, waiting for orders, Oden still heard Mina's exclaim and felt that they had misunderstood... but he didn't dare to correct them as he felt that she sounded very happy at this moment.
"You heard what the young master said to the young mistress, you should go and tell her Sensei that she will be on a two week break." Migoto whispered.
Mina then flashed away.
Oden finished his business and was going to prepare everything he needed for the vacation but Migoto appeared with a backpack, a few sealed scrolls and a fishing hat to shade his face from the sun.
"Master I've already prepared everything." Migos said with utmost respect. His only regret was that Madara was long dead...
""Thank you" Oden said as he took them.
Later that day, Oden could be seen walking out of Konoha with Hinata right by his side. He wore summer shorts, sandals, a loose haori with no shirt under and a fishing hat. His defined muscles could be seen with his open haori.
Hinata wore a simple summer's yukata, and an umbrella to shade her from the sun. Both looked very relaxed.
The more they walked, the smaller and smaller Konoha gates seemed until the gates couldn't be seen anymore.
"I've never had a vacation before!" Hinata said happily, they had been chit chatting since they left their homes.
"Hmm, let's travel to different places and experience different foods!" Oden said in response. He finally felt like he could just be Oden, and not a clan head, which was relaxing.
People underestimate how hard it is to hold power in a society, the truth is, if you're going to be a righteous leader that cares for his people, you'll be stressing your life force away while having many sleepless nights trying to resolve many problems.
The only way power can be easy, if you misuse it, if it corrupts you, only then can you sleep peacefully while your people suffer because of your incompetence.
In the Zaraki district, lots of people looked sad at the moment.
"Ah, mister Gurrari, what can I prepare for you today..." A vendor said as one of his regulars stopped by, usually the Vendor always meets his customers with a smile, yet today he seemed slightly sad.
""Hello mister Lamborigami, Sigh... usually I want some pancakes on my way to work.. but today you can give blueberry ice cream with sake poured over it... because I feel blue and need something to drown my sorrows with." Gurrari said.
"I see... I feel the same, after all Oden-Sama is on vacation, how will we survive two weeks without him..." The vendor said, he genuinely felt like so much could go wrong when their supreme leader wasn't here.
"Shhhh, don't say it out loud, it's an open secret that he left for a vacation, no one is supposed to know." The customer said.
Yet when he looked around to see if someone heard, he noticed that essentially everyone looked sad and dispirited.
"I think the secret lasted as long as my first time." The vendor said, noticing how everyone probably already knew.
Inside the Hokage's office, Tsunade sat with a Frown.
"Alas, I wanted to propose the Idea of marriage to him!" the third Homage said with amusement as he missed his chance.
"He really just picked up and left...." Tsunade said aghast, without even hearing what her sensei had said.
"That he did!" The third said in a chuckle.
"But I was going to ask him for advice on a few important things." She complained as she looked at a few important looking files.
"You can always ask me." The third said in an elderly, wise tone, yet, his words just flew out the window as Tsunade ignored him once again.
"Look at it from the positive side, at least the Zaraki elder isn't inside of Konoha right now." The third Hokage said with a smile.
Suddenly Tsunade felt like a heavy weight had fallen off her shoulders.
"You're right." She said finally happy.
