Chapitre 6: The Determination of a Sister (3)

"Yes, finally it's all coming together. Now I have an idea on what to do, all my hard work will pay off, I just need to connect the dots and all will be well"

As Evie kept reading, she started feeling joy, she didn't know where it came from.

"I've been researching for about 3 months now and I'm closer than ever. I feel like I just need one last step, but I just can't seem to think of anything. During those past three months the thought of giving up never crossed my mind. I felt motivated. I don't know why, but something inside of me keeps pushing me to complete it and create the way to other worlds."

'If big brother was close to finding a way to another world, why didn't he use it, why did he have to die that way.'

"I found it. I FINALLY found it. All I need is the blood of an intelligent aquatic animal, some anti matter and to connect them all together, something from outer space. These will probably take some time to find so I will just relax and get my well deserved rest hanging with my family."

"Two months later and I still couldn't find the anti matter. I found the blood, it was fairly easy to find. I also found a meteorite, it was fairly expensive, but I still had some money left over from all my awards. I will write down the formula on how to go to another world and a bundle of my hair. During my research I was looking for a way on how not to get thrown into a random world. The best way I could think of was to throw an item that came from the world you're heading to and I threw my hair assuming that it will work. Tomorrow I'm going to meet an acquaintance that might know of a way to buy some anti matter. Hopefully I will be able to buy it. When I collect all the ingredients I will put them in a place that only me and my sister knew and will write the way with her unreadable handwriting when she was a kid. I mastered her handwriting as I knew that she will be the only one able to read it because back in the day her own teachers couldn't make out any words from what she writes. Thinking back, those were happy times, I was happy, I didn't read or watch anything that made me this intelligent lunatic that is crazed with the idea of going to another world. I still don't know why I'm so attached to the idea...."

Enzo as usual wrote the same line in the end, but this time he didn't erase it. Evie saw this and immediately knew that it was the last page in her beloved brother's diary. She didn't want to turn the page, she didn't want to remember those painful feelings she felt when her brother died. She didn't want to flip the page, but the tiniest sliver of hope made her do it; and as expected it was empty.

She started crying and bawling her eyes out as the feelings she had when her brother died had returned.

She kept crying for what seemed like hours. Until she regained her composter and her eyes were full of determination.

'I will go to big brother's world, I will take the risk and try his experiment. I trust him with my heart and soul.'

Evie steeled her heart and started heading towards the place she and Enzo played in when they were little.

She started digging the ground under the tree they played around during their childhood.

She kept digging everywhere until she felt the shovel hit something hard. She started frantically pushing the dirt out with her hand.

She took out what seemed like a metal lunch box that kids took to elementary school. She found it locked. Being in no mood to figure out the lock combination, she broke it.

Inside she found a note.

(Hahaha, I knew you would break that lock. So I wrote this to tell you that what you're looking for isn't here. You gotta search better. No way would I leave something so important in a public park, come on I'm the smartest man alive. I'm gonna give you a hint. It's the place where mom and dad used to hide stuff away from us.)

The note was written in the worst handwriting possible. Of course Evie could read it because it was her own handwriting.

After reading the note she returned back to her parents house and found another lunch box, but this time it was made of plastic.

Inside she found everything she was looking for. She didn't start using everything and go to another world right away. She wasn't stupid enough to do that. She wanted to learn more about how to survive in the wild, how to live alone, how to track somebody, she needed to learn a lot of things, but she didn't care how much time she needed. All she wanted was to see her brother again and she didn't care how much effort or time it took. This just shows how much she loves Enzo.

During all of this Enzo was sitting on his mother's lap getting fed by Celine his mother and getting stares from his father showing his jealousy, not knowing what was going on with his sister.
