When Tiger returned with the tray and food, Ivy sat up and rested her back against the headboard. She was expecting fancier dishes, but he returned with reheated food from the convenience store. Luckily, she was friends with Heaven for a long time, and Heaven would occasionally take her to eat at the convenience store or try street food. Therefore, these foods weren't too unfamiliar to her.
"Ahem!" Ivy cleared her throat aloud, peeking at the man sitting on the chair beside the bed. Tiger was holding the bottom of a paper bowl with one hand and a plastic spork with the other.
His brows rose as he snapped his eyes at her. "Any problem?" he asked with genuine wonder in his eyes.
"No," she shook her head as she cast her eyes down. "I just need some water."
Her hand trembled as she reached for the glass of water on the tray over her legs. She took a mouthful, clearing her throat afterward to make a more believable lie.
