Chapitre 26: Bonus chapter

After the incident in the alley, I left as soon as I can without meeting his eyes.
I don't know why but just by looking at him I was feeling a weird sensation. I couldn't stop staring at his annoyingly perfect face whenever my gaze fell on him.
My heart beating as if I was in some kind of race.
So I did the only sensible thing I could think of.
I got out of the alley leaving him staring after me in confusion.
As I walked the streets with my loot, trying to find a perfect store to spend it, I saw him following me.
He hadn't stopped following me, since I left the alley. He is like a lost puppy tailing me.
I could understand that I was a beautiful girl and he mut be enchanted by my looks, but this? Following me through half the market. I was unable to buy delicious, candied fruit.
Afraid that he would see the sack of gold.
This is it. I stooped in my tracks.
I can overlook things but this, this is food, I cannot handle when such deliciousness is in front of me, my mouth watering at the very thought. And I was not able to taste it.
I turned, and sure enough, he was there merely four paces behind me.
"Why are you following me?" hands on my hips, I asked him angrily.
He stopped, his eyes widening in surprise, he looked surprised that I was confronting him.
Does he think I will get attacked again? Is that why he was playing to be my bodyguard?
"I don't need you to babysit me, I can handle a few thugs myself," I said flipping my hair, he looked a bit embarrassed that I was doing it in the middle of the market.
The people in the market who were walking by us turned to see what the commotion was. When I glared at them, they turned and went about their business.
"I just saved you, didn't I?" he asked, glaring back at me.
I scoffed; my eyes narrowed at him. Like me, Princess Arianna would ever need his help.
"You were the one who kidnapped me yesterday. Remember? Or is your memory so weak?" I asked offended at his audacity.
"I saved you today, didn't I?" his eyes narrowed back at me. "And you didn't even said, thank you". He said, taking a step towards me.
"Is that why you saved me? so that I could forever be under the weight of your debt? I put my hand to my chest scoffing at him.
"I didn't say that," he said,
"Oh, mighty savior? What would I have done if your angelic presence hadn't graced this earth and your kindness didn't propel you to help me? what would have happened to a maiden like me?" I said dramatically, he opened his mouth, but no words came out of them. He looked like he was lost for words.
I went in the opposite side of which I was supposed to go and hid behind a flower stall.
Watching him from my spot.
He stood there; I think I might have shocked him into a frozen state.
After a moment he continued on his path.
I may have overreacted a bit. Just a tiny bit.
