On the day of the ball,
"My lady you are looking beautiful." Daisy looked mesmerized and could not take her gaze away from Mary.
She was wearing a red low-cut dress with a plunging neckline. She had teardrop rubies with a ruby necklace. Her makeup was so perfect that she looked ethereal.
"I am sure no one would be able to take their gaze away." She giggled. Mary took a deep breath.
It was more like a battlefield than a party.
"Have the guests arrived?" Daisy nodded, her face grimacing as well.
"All the nobles were escorted to their seats. Rich commoners were taken to the hall. No royal family member visited. My lady, do you think that they would come?" Everyone was nervous.
They looked at her as if her words were final. She could see their hopes, their trust in them. She took a deep breath.
"Yes, she would come." They all released the breath they held.
