Chapitre 110: With Him, All Was Possible

[KAWAI]

"All hail the king!!"

"All hail the king!!"

"All hail the king!!"

Those were the chants that brought all the non-Lycans to a standstill and utmost silence at the mating ball. They hadn't done shit to piss off the king, they hadn't even interacted with him, but the king who was coming was a natural death sentence to them all.

They knew the king hated werewolves with a passion so strong that if he wanted to, he could burn down wolves and wipe out the entire race without having to worry about what the universe would look like without them.

He was known for his contempt for other races because they were simply annoying pests in his way and he needed them gone faster than anyone could blink or say shit.

He was bad for everyone, he was a monster, he was ruthless and more than anything, he was a father; a secret that only people in this entire kingdom knew at the moment.

"All rise for the great king, the undefeated, the ruler of realms, and the dark warrior of Kawai. King Zaffuto Hinata of House Hinata and the Lycan kingdom. All rise!!" the warrior in charge said proudly as the king walked past them.

Zaffuto Hinata making his way to the podium on the day of the mating ceremony is one of the hundred things that were considered impossible. It could have easily been a myth but then over the years, everyone had agreed that the king was a myth.

But then myths didn't get announced so publicly in front of the different races of unmated factions. Myths didn't look like they had better places to be than here at the podium listening to a bunch of fucked up creations, right?

Myths didn't look so brooding and let their dark energy surround them so visibly that the nearest person to him was at least six feet away for fear of falling on the wrong side of the darkest creature of the realm.

Myths didn't scan the crowd for one little boy who had promised he would be there if the king was worried about maintaining his posture and cool. And myths didn't smile lightly when they spotted who they were looking for before wearing the bored face again.

"No way. He made him come?" Chief Konstantin said to Lord Sadako who was at the moment stuck between excited and proud to see his brother finally make his way up there for the first time in twenty-five years.

A long time had passed and there was no denying it, but as they looked at the king making his way to where his seat was, they couldn't help but be thankful that Tamiko had made the impossible happen again.

That kid was easily the best thing that happened to the king and it was no longer just speculation anymore. It was a truth that they were all determined to face, because otherwise there would be nothing to smile about in the dead kingdom, no?

"He did it. He really did it, Konstantin. After this ceremony, you can take as much time as you want off duty, my brother and I will take care of things. It doesn't matter if you want a hundred years off.

"That is the reward for this little miracle today. Goddamn thank you for finding him," Lord Sadako said to Chief Konstantin who just nodded in understanding. He was emotional too, but the world had never seen an emotional Igor Konstantin or even Lord Sadako.

They had never imagined that these two had any emotions because of how ruthless and barbarous they were outside of Kawai. Well, at least this was some beautiful news for them and the entire kingdom, right?

"I didn't know you'd come," Sadako said to his brother, before he hugged King Zaffuto in front of everyone. He had expected Zaffuto to reject the hug, seeing as his brother hated physical contact and public affection, but he didn't.

If anything, the Lycan king embraced his brother a second longer than was intended, as if this was to show the factions that the king was back. But then some still had doubts and they couldn't be blamed, because the king looked like a vigilante.

He was covered from head to toe in black. He had his crown peeping on his head. He had his rings set and he was the same build as the last time anyone had seen him out in public.

But then just as the factions had thought, they still hinted that this man was a fraud.

A fraud that the Lycans had brought forward to make them feel like their king was there with them, when in reality the king was probably stuck in his room wallowing over his dead wife and lost son, right?

"Well, he said he would be my cheerleader, brother," King Zaffuto responded in the mind link, seeing as the conversation was private and he didn't want anyone looking for his son.

He needed his Tamiko to lead a normal life no matter what happened. And he would make sure of it, come hell or high water. His son deserved to live, which was what the king would champion until the very end.

It didn't matter how old his son was, because at the end of the day, whether Tamiko would be a thousand years old, Zaffuto Hinata would forever be his father, the one true bond left for the kid and the house Hinata outside of Sadako.

"Will you address them?" Sadako asked, this time in the mind link too, as he pulled back from the hug. He knew Zaffuto was still angry and such occasions reminded him of the one time he had to burn his Liana, but he needed to know what his brother would do.

If Zaffuto wasn't ready for this then Sadako wasn't going to push. Besides, the king was just as terrifying in his silence as he was whenever he spoke, right?

"I will. I have to give my people confidence and remind them that they will never be alone," King Zaffuto said thoughtfully as he remembered what his son had said to him. He loved his Tamiko and he was sure his son would be a good king someday.

Oh, Zaffuto.

"Sounds like him," Sadako responded before sitting back, while the king stood there and stared at the factions who had come. The murmurs that had once been there grew silent as the air began thickening with a dark aura.

It was the dangerous aura that the Lycan king was known to possess, and people who were not liked by the king, could easily choke on it. Well, lucky for everyone, today the Lycan king was determined to make a good first impression on his son.

So gently, the king handed his brother his long staff, before he casually removed his dark cloak. He took his sweet time while doing it, and at the same time, he was making sure to let everyone here know who he was... Who he truly was.

Everyone knew King Zaffuto Hinata was the kind of king who loved playing power games and this was probably the proof they all needed to make certain of it, right? After all, there was no harm in enjoying the madness and the ideas they had of him in their head, no?

"I hear someone dared to call my people a liar," the king greeted coldly, his deep voice reverberating.
