CHAPTER 159

Damien dashed through the door and knelt beside Skai, ignoring the blood stains on his black suit. 

His fingers immediately reached underneath her and cradled her lifeless form close to his chest. Damien checked her pulse, and eyes for any sign of life but nothing. 

Quickly he placed his palm on top of her heart and channelled his powers on it, hoping to stop the bleeding and get her heart pumping. 

Seconds turned to minutes, but still nothing changed. Skai's pale face stared at him with no hope of waking up. 

Damien's breath caught in his throat. 

"Skai, come on, love. Wake up. Come…" His voice broke. "Come back to me." 

Damien could not believe such a thing had occurred in his absence. He scanned around for any sign of life or something. 

"Just anything at all. Skai, give me a sign you are alive and this is all a dream!"
