"Poisonous Fog?" Eve frowned as she stared at the greenish fog covering the streets of the Eastern District just outside of the capital. "Poisonous enough that it could harm Weres?"

Weres do not have an almost immortal life like vampires, but they have powerful bodies. They do not get sick, and they can transform into their corresponding animal bloodline. However, this does not mean that they are susceptible to anything else such as poison or curses.

Maximilian stood next to her, wearing an expression full of grimness as he stared at the fog slowly spreading their way. "This is by no means ordinary sorcery."

"Something is wrong," Eve added. Sadly, she could not figure out what it was. She had an odd feeling that somehow she could not see the whole thing.

First, she thought that the killing of the elven maid was a distraction so Penelope could go inside that cave and try to obtain the Tome. Now, it seems that she got it wrong.
