Chapitre 46: The Trial

<MC POV>

I don't know where I am; I can only see clouds down to my feet and a dark sky with many stars above me. And I found some floating stairs going upward. Wait, are you sure I didn't mistakenly go to heaven? I suppose I have to climb these stairs. I found something written on the first step, and thanks to my Omnilingual ability, I can read it easily.

"What is your GOAL?" It is the most suspicious thing here. Anyway, I took a step on the stairs, and I felt something get locked inside me. I have completely lost contact with all my supernatural powers, and I can't even open my system. And not even my GOB or System space.

And I found myself in an arena, and in front of me was the 6-year-old version of Seo-Ah, and even I reverted into a 6-year-old. I understood one thing, that is, I have to fight my every avatar till now with a similar level of power. And it is the same for other upcoming stairs, I suppose.

As I moved forward, my Avatar just started to spam magic spells. I remember now that it was the first time I tried to create a spell and wanted to test out an efficient way to use a spell. That was really one of my good memories of being too excited about supernatural abilities.

I took a deep breath and started to run towards her, easily dodging her every spell. The only thing I have an advantage over my Avatars is their experience and techniques. I easily knocked out my younger self by hitting her in the back of the neck. After that, I found a more mature Seo-Ah in front of me. Hah, this is going to be boring fighting my weaker self.

As I went on defeating many versions of myself, the Avatar with the flow state came. It was from the time I learned to use observational Haki to predict the future and defeated the Beast Monarch. Even if I have more experience than her, she can literally calculate my next move. And the only way to defeat her is to narrow her calculation and go beyond it, which she cannot even avoid.

It is easy to say but too difficult to execute. It would have been easier if I could have used different abilities, but somehow I am tied to the rule of using the same ability as my opponent. But there is one thing that can still help conceal my next move, and that is Breathing. I learned many ways to use breathing, and one is to synchronise with the surrounding environment to hide my presence and close my distance from her. But she still found me and attacked my weak spot with a one-inch punch.

I purposefully let my weak spot be hers so that she could execute a one-inch punch. And in that move, she will be focusing on her punching movement. Meanwhile, I perfectly coordinated my body, so I got hit by it, but still, with my motion, the impact was too low on me.

"That punch was too weak." I rotated my left leg, then my waist, and finally my right shoulder to produce enough kinetic energy to execute the perfect one-inch punch on her stomach, which pierced through her.

I have almost defeated nearly 47 avatars of mine, and finally the one that came in front of me is the dragon-morphed version of me. But this is too different; I can feel with her gaze alone that she has her own will. Before, every avatar fought with the same lifeless gaze, but this one wants to seriously kill me.

She disappeared and came near me, but I easily dodged her and parried her. But she did something unexpected: she bit me with her mouth and tore some of my flesh. Wait, I would never do that. And I suppose the dragon blood brought wildness to my life-devoid avatar. And the beast instinct is driving her to fight.

It's a good thing that I have regeneration; I regenerated my body. Just as I was going to attack her, she brought a golden spear from GOB. Damn, that spear has the Dragon Slayer attribute. But I still went to attack her with a katana because I knew that I was not that skilled with a spear at that time. So, it's obvious that she will make a mistake with the spear.

Just as I expected, she held the spear at the end part to create distance, but she didn't know that when she held it, the centre of mass would move forward, and with that, I attacked her leg to make her fall forward, and I brought my knee upward to strike her chin and stab her through the neck.

"NEXT" I am looking forward to the Avatar, which can compete with me on the same level.

________________________________________________________________

I am currently fighting the 12-year-old version of Amy, the 87th avatar of mine. It has been a little difficult matching their strengths, but I can still defeat them with a perfect understanding of my skill level. But it is still annoying because she can somehow understand my technique and dodge it. And the most annoying thing is her way of using Zaphkiel. While fighting all of them, I not only learned my mistake but also many tricks that I used when I was too weak against the strong one.

Before, I was fighting with tricks, calculation, and cunning. But now I am fighting with instinct, built with severe practise. Even though I can fight against the past me, it is still annoying that the past me can stall some time against me. I have experienced the fighting method of a weak person against a strong person from my past self.

I slashed through her neck while she was too distracted to think about her next move. And so on fighting. I felt something going too wrong, which I didn't understand, but I still went on killing each one of them till I reached the 99th stage.

It was myself with my current abilities. Now, all my advantages are completely gone. This is a fight between those who will kill each other faster. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, but on complete annihilation, there is no one to annihilate me."

We both moved at the same time and kept swinging our katanas. And if someone saw this in third person, they would only find sparks coming out everywhere. She sliced me slightly in multiple places, and the same was true of me slicing her in multiple places. As we both created distance, we found both of us were smeared with our own blood. We both healed ourselves and continued fighting each other. While using many spells and runes to buff ourselves and attack each other.

I was somehow too happy to fight her because she was challenging. Scathach is too strong for me, but her being completely the same as me makes me exceed my own self and go beyond her.

She raised her hand, and a blue ball started to form. Oh sh*t, she is using Lapse Blue, the same technique as Gojo Satoru. Cursed technique lapse: blue And because I recreated this technique with mana, I only call it Lapse: Blue. With Lapse: Blue, she is trying to hold me in a certain place.

"Reversal Red." A small red ball formed, and I shot it towards Lapse: Blue to neutralise it. I learned this technique faster because I already understood that by overlapping two Lapse Blues with each other, it will reverse itself, just as Satoru himself said that negative multiplies negative and is equal to positive.

If you are thinking that by using Red over Blue, Purple Hollow will form, then the answer is no, because I increase Reversal Red intensity so that it can neutralise the Blue and shoot my avatar with remaining power. And more than that, I haven't yet made the technique Purple Hollow because I need to maintain a perfect balance between them, which I cannot yet do because of my lack of understanding of its theories.

But I was tricked by my avatar, using Lapse Blue, into thinking she consumed a certain amount of mana. Then, using Reversal Red, I have to consume twice the mana she used because of overlapping two Lapse Blues. And the most important thing is that this consumes too much of my mana to interfere with my mana strengthening.

She took this opportunity to slash my neck, but I avoided her just by the edge. I now understood her weakness. She can copy my abilities, experience, and everything else. But she cannot copy my instinct. As Bruce Lee said, "I fear not the man who has practised 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practised one kick 10,000 times."

Scathach always told me to practise my Quick Draw every day because it is my area of expertise. It is completely up to my instincts on how to execute a perfect Quick Draw. I hold my katana in Quick Drawing position and keep dodging her till I find the perfect place to use my attack.

"Gotcha"

*SCREEH* And on my next move, I have already behind my Avatar, and I sheathed my katana. As I turned around, I found her head detached from her body.
