"What if I don't want to get the device?" I asked out loud, completely forgetting that I was talking to the voices in my head and not the guys that were listening to my one-sided conversation.
'Did I ask if you wanted to? No, I did not. You will get that device because if anyone is going to bring about the end of the world, it is going to be me. Do you understand?' asked Violence as she stared at me inside the beautiful throne room. 'Now, get the fuck out of here and go deal with your shit.'
I don't know how much I liked one of my personalities telling me off like that, but at the same time, she did make a good point.
'I always make a good point! Now, watch where you are walking. We don't need more bloodshed than what is to come. Especially not your bloodshed. Pay attention!'

Wang Chao... everyone loves to hate Wang Chao. (And no, I am not calling anyone out for it.. lol... he is a dick)
But I would like to explain a few things since you have made it this far into my novel.
The first, and most important... is that Wang Chao really can't help himself, even though he is trying to get better.
He is War (as I am sure everyone has figured out) one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Humans start war, so of course, he has to answer it. It is his calling. He can no more ignore the call than a person can ignore food. Yes, you can do it, and for a while, but at some point in time you either give in and eat, or you don't and Liu Wei visits you.
But with War comes death, disease and famine. In fact, he is the only horseman that never rides alone.
Death doesn't need the other three.
Famine can happen all one its own.
Disease is pretty good at doing its own thing out of the blue.
But with War, there is always the other three. So when he answers the call that the humans put out, he automatically brings all of the other horsemen with him, no matter what their feelings are on the matter.
Wang Chao doesn't want to answer the call, but to him, it is so ingrained into his very psyche that he can't stop it. He grew up in a household where you obeyed orders. He thrived in a militay setting where he either gave orders or obeyed them. Hell, even in buisness the are certain 'missions' or objectives that he must complete to be considered successful.
He has a lot more to over come than any of the other guys. Liu Wei and Chen Zi Han are the seconds in command. Their leader just happened to switch from Wang Chao or Liu Yu Zeng to Li Dai Lu and it was a very easy thing for them.
Liu Yu Zeng wasn't happy with his life as the enforcer and head of the syndicate. He was forced into that role and the second that he found a chance to escape it, he took it with both hands.
War (the horseman, not Wang Chao) didn't understand some things in his first life, and a particular goddess with a hatred for Li Dai Lu whispered a few things in his ear that caused shit to hit the fan. (I won't go into any more details)
To be continued in next author's thought
