The coffee pot got slammed down so hard its top clanged onto the floor.
Good thing the pot was tough stainless steel, or it would have shattered.
Edwin looked at the coffee pot on the floor, then flicked his eyes over to Sandra. His stare was cold, a little ticked off. "Does his name really bug you this much?"
Sandra's cheeks turned red as she tried to cover up her nerves. "No, I'm not bothered...just caught off guard."
"I thought you had wiped him from your memory," Edwin joked lightly.
"I did...I wouldn't have thought about him if you hadn't said his name." Sandra did her best to keep cool as she bent to pick up the coffee pot and walked to the sink. Her brows knitted together. Her heart tightened and then filled with bitterness. She was dealing with a whirlwind of feelings inside her. She felt way too raw, way too touchy.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
