Chapitre 26: I want to be all rounder trainer

"Hello?"

"Kyuu?~"

Confused, she called disconnected the phone and after making sure of it again, she called. but no one answered, she called again, and finally got through.

"Hello, is this Jun? grandson of grandma Helena?"

"Vee!!"

"Bel~? Bel!"

"Vee?"

"Bel!"

...

Jun then grabbed his phone from Eevee and Beldum who was having a heated debate on weather news in his phone.

"Hello? Who is it?" Jun asked back

Pinery head was full of black lines, who answered the phone this time?

...

"Hello?" Jun look at his phone, its still connecting

"Hello, I am Pinery, are you Jun grandsone of grandma Helena?" Finally there is a female voice asked back.

Jun raised his eyebrows, 'So fast?'

"Ah yes, I am Jun" he replied

Finally Pinery showed a relief expression, they then discussed about something and after reached an agreement both closed their phones.

Jun looked at Eevee and Beldum who looking at each other and growled each other and sighed. He wanted to stop it but thinking maybe Beldum can stimulated Eevee timid personality? Let them be. he then began to search about other things

---

At four o'clock in the evening, Jun and Pinery sat down together at a cafe near the harbour in Vermillion City. Pinery looked at Jun's paper while Jun fed Eevee a Poke muffin.

After a while, Pinery nodded, and as she glanced at the interaction between Jun and Eevee, she smiled. It was the first time since she arrived, and upon seeing Eevee on Jun's head, she thought to herself, 'That must be the Eevee on the phone.'

Pinery looked at Eevee, who was beside Jun's and munching its muffin , and then looked at Jun, she smiled and said, "You two are very close."

Jun nodded and replied, "Of course, he's my partner."

Pinery then proceeded to explain the details, including the pros and cons of publishing on their platform and the fact that Jun is only 11 years old and needs a guarantee. But this was easy to solve, as his guaranteeing was already verified.

Jun only nodded. To be honest, he didn't care much about that. He only needed a simple article so that he could be verified as an official Pokemon scholar - one that has been verified and has official results.

'Speaking of this…' Jun's eyes flashed.

He looked at Eevee, who was by his side, and said, "Actually, I originally just wanted to help Eevee overcome the weaknesses brought about by its personality. After all, I am a trainer. But as I continued to train Eevee, I noticed some unique differences in its behavior. I didn't know why, so I started to study it more closely. Now, I am thinking of making Eevee the focus of my research to change the way people see this wonderful Pokemon."

Pinery trembled, thinking to herself, 'This is rare!'

Eevee's timid nature makes it unsuitable for battles, which is why not many trainers have it. It's best suited to be a companion for children and rookie trainers, but what happens when they become adults? Most Eevee will end up lonely and waiting for their owners to come home. With a family, it may not be as lonely, but what about with a lone trainer?

"As for why I published this, I want to erase the discrimination against Eevee. There must be many people who have experienced the same situation as Eevee. They may be despised or even scolded by trainers because of their timidity and fear of fighting. I want to avoid this situation and help more trainers understand that Eevee's personality is not a flaw." Jun continued

Looking at her reactions, 'Yes, let's play the emotional card here.' Jun thoughts. Based on the animation series, Pinery has a special fondness for Eevee. Jun didn't know why, but he knew that if he played his cards right and then he might be able to gain full support of this future Eevee evolution professor.

"But didn't you mention earlier that you are a trainer? Don't you want to become a pure scholar or breeder like your mother?" Pinery asked curiously,

Jun shook his head and replied, "I plan to be a trainer, scholar, and maybe even a breeder too."

Pinery was startled and emphasized, "Even though being a Pokemon trainer, scholar, and breeder may seem similar, they are actually very different. Despite being in the same path, battling, researching, and breeding require vastly different skills and knowledge. are you sure about this?"

Jun nodded confidently.

His answer startled her once again, but then she thought, 'Grandma Helena an associater professor, Grandpa a marquess, Father Gym leader, Mother breeder expert.. It must be on his DNA. but maybe after he knew the difficulties he will changed his mind' Pinery only smiled

Who doesn't have a dream to become an all-rounder trainer? To become a researcher, breeding expert, and a trainer all at once – every kid has their aspirations. However, when reality hits them hard, they will humble themselves. Pinery only nodded and smiled. She then took out her Pokéball and released her Eevee

"Kyuu~?"

"Kyu~?"

Jun's Eevee was startled. Then it hopped down from the table and looking at this Eevee curiously. Jun only glance at it slightly.

"Eevie, come here" Pinery beckoned

Jun was startled, "Eevie?"

Pinery smiled and said, "It's an Eevee that I gave a nickname to. There's research about the benefits of giving Pokemon nicknames from a renowned Pokemon Professor. According to the research, giving a Pokemon a nickname not only differentiates it from others, but it also increases the intimacy between the Pokemon and its trainer. I have the published paper here, and I can send it to you if you're interested"

Jun thanked her and thought to himself, 'Yes, this is reality, not a game or animation. No matter how small every detail is, it will also have an impact on both the Pokemon and its trainer.'

Soon, Jun received the paper and read it. It said that the research was created because there was a battle between two Charizards. Both Charizard trainers did not nickname their respective Pokemon, which affected their performance in battles. Even though Charizard can differentiate between its trainer's voices, what if it's not an official battle? What if a Pokemon poacher uses voice changer technology to trick the Pokemon?

Soon it was published and become a sensation at that time. Jun nodded and read at the the name who published the research.

'Samuel Oak..'
