"Did you regret losing control over yourself?" Julianna asked.

"I did, which was why I left the pack because I could no longer face anyone, especially Lucian," Drake responded.

Drake blamed himself for everything that occurred to them. He was wrong to believe that he was helping them by controlling Tate. But in the end, it was he who got tricked by his father and lost not only the person he loved but also the trust of the people.

"But Lucian never blamed you," she said, bringing him out of his reverie.

"He didn't, but even after what happened, I still could not believe my thoughts." Drake leaned in and gently rested the side of his head on her forehead.

Julianna couldn't stop nuzzling as she again wrapped her arm around him.

Drake always wanted to share this burden with someone and today, finally, he felt the release of the weight.
