Chapitre 149: A pitiful soul

While the guard was menacingly throwing his baton around, Chi Lian smiled because she could see a convoy of four military vehicles making its way to the gate. She knew retribution had come. She would surely milk this little episode for some benefits.

"What are you smiling about?" the guard asked her sternly.

"I am laughing at you; you are a pitiful soul who allowed yourself to be used instead of doing your job. Odds are you are going to be punished heavily within the next one minute."

"You_" his eyes bulged in anger.

"You should look behind you." She nodded her head at the gate and waved at Minister Su who was standing outside his vehicle.

A few soldiers opened the gate widely and the he stepped out. He approached the Chi family, stopping before Chi Lian specifically and greeted her with a smile before asking.

"Miss Chi, what's going on? Why are you out here? We have been waiting for over forty minutes."
