Chapitre 148: Already making enemies

Chi Lian did not get to enjoy the stunning scenery of the capital from the start of the journey to the moment when arrived at the first check point granting them entrance to their new residence. She spent the whole journey with her eyes closed because she was tired, irritable, cynic and overly stretched thin.

The soldiers at the entrance were asking a variety of questions and she was doing her very best not to snap at them. Her head was lowered and she was rubbing the sides of her forehead with her thumbs. One soldier in particular was persistent and he sent the others away.

"Ma'am, we need to see legal documents for every human and pet in your entourage before granting you entrance." the soldier told her disdainfully.
