Chapitre 171: THE DEAD

Magdalene had locked herself in for the whole day in fright. She was wishing Lucas would show up very soon. She would rush to the window whenever she heard the sound of an incoming Carriage but would be disappointed to see that it wasn't him. She lay on the bed and fell asleep Immediately from exhaustion.

A knock on the door startled Magdalene as she quickly woke up and hurried to the door opening it to see Lydia.

"Milady" Lydia said and bow.

"Come in" Magdalene fake smiled at her and she walked in. Magdalene only noticed that it was already dark. She couldn't believe that she had slept for that long. Magdalene began to strip herself of clothes as the servant girl helped her in taking a quick bathe.

"Is the Lord back?" Magdalene asked as the servant girl braided her hair.

"Yes milady" She answered to have Magdalene sigh in relief.

"Have you noticed anything strange or unusual in the castle?" Magdalene wanted to confirm that all that happened to her at noon wasn't a dream.
