Oriana used magic, and another sweet treat appeared in her palm. She immediately ate it to get rid of the bitterness in her mouth.

She made a mental note: next time she punished him with something bitter, she would maintain a distance and not give him a chance to kiss her.

"Let me check you now," she said, her hands reaching for the buttons of his shirt.

He held her hands, "I am alr…" He swallowed the rest of his words, seeing her cold gaze, and changed his words, "...go ahead."

He sure didn't want another dose of that bitter potion.

Oriana pushed aside the lapels of his jacket and one by one undid the buttons of his white shirt. She saw the discolored skin on his chest down to his stomach. She gritted her teeth, 'Damn demoness. Can't she hold her anger?'

Her fingers touched his skin, gently caressing along those bruises. "Does it hurt?"

"Not much," he replied, looking at her worried face.
