The next morning, Oriana stirred from her slumber only to find the empty space beside her, her hand instinctively reaching out to touch the vacant spot. 

'Warm! He must have left just a while ago.'

The previous night all of a sudden she decided to sleep in her room instead of going to her grandfather, because she somewhat expected his arrival. She didn't want him to see the person he hated the most in case he came to her. She wished to spare him a displeasure of seeing his wife next to that very person. She would never expect him to show any leniency towards her grandfather.

Hurriedly rising from the bed, Oriana dashed downstairs, barely acknowledging the servants who respectfully bowed in her presence.

"Your Highness….

Pushing open the door, she found herself at the bedside of the old man, Philip, whose complexion appeared remarkably improved from the previous night, his vitality visibly restored.
