(Akame's POV)
Staring out from my bedroom window, the cool breeze gently brushed over my cheeks while the villagers celebrated my grandfather's 20th anniversary as the Uzukage.
"You say if you could fly
You'd never want to come back down
That you'd only have eyes
For that, for that, blue, blue sky..."
The warm, loving voice of Akahana singing soon filled my ears as she rocked back and forth on the bed behind me. Turning toward her, I couldn't help but smile.
Not long ago, I would have rung her neck, but... Somehow, I'm still reminded of the sisterly bond we had during the academy.
My eyes shifted to the large pregnancy bump that formed over the last 6 months. I could sense the evergrowing chakra coming from her unborn child.
"That song... I've heard Shinku sing it from time to time."
"Yeah. Shinku would always come by the shop for more than just equipment and a good time. He would always come by and captivate me with his songs. Not really something men do these days." Akahana chuckled lightly as she stroked her baby bump. Her eyes seemed almost distant.
"I get ehat you mean, while he didn't sing to me often like he did with you, he had his ways to captivate a heart."
I nodded and dropped onto the bed beside her feet. Letting out a soft sigh, I couldn't help but wonder what Shinku was up to while leaving her and the woman he got pregnant.
"Still. It's hard not to love him." Akahana smiled. I agree. But if he knows the truth, would he still feel the same way?
Just as I thought this...
"This Chakra..." It's unmistakably his chakra. Sensing the moment he arrived in Uzu, my heart pounded in anticipation.
With my other self gone, I was free to imagine my true feelings. And I was honestly a little scared.
I had no doubt that he wouldn't die out there with his strength. It was clear by how his Chakra felt that he was far from happy since he likely found nothing relating to himself.
"Shinku! Ugh..." Akahana leaped off the bed and attempted to waddle her way to Shinku, but the sudden entrance of Akahana's midwife, Lady Yuno, my mother Ruri, and Aunty.
"Ah. My lady, you must rest. Conserve your strength for childbirth, with how strong the young one is growing, the toll it will take on you later will only grow." Lady Yuno and I held her sides as she nearly tumbled.
"Tch. That bastard has some nerve coming back now after knocking you up and leaving." I frowned at my mother's words. Even before his awakening, she never approved of him.
"Mom. Please, not right now... Shinku isn't at fault. He already had plans to leave, and Akahana hadn't shown any signs of pregnancy until after."
"Screw that. The bastard should have been a lapdog, yet he runs around like he's better than everyone. He should have known that if you fuck recklessly then a baby was bound to happen." I sighed, knowing that even if I continued she would only rant even more.
"Ruri... Please settle down, some. Even if you aren't willing to admit it, he is indeed more powerful than our entire village. But that doesn't mean he's all knowing." Aunty Eto gently placed her hand onto mom's shoulder.
"Hmm?" All of our gazes soon shifted toward the window. While we couldn't see what was going on at the docks, it wasn't had for us all to sense the explosion of Chakra coming from Shinku.
After leaving the village, it seemed like he slowly became more like the Shinku my other self would often mention in stories.
A fierce man who cared little for the weak but loved himself a fight. A walking calamity of left alone for too long.
Though while his chakra seemed to be colder than before, it felt like he couldn't bring out his full strength.
"Oh dear. It seems the Uzukage and those two plan to confront that monster." Lady Yuna whispered in a hushed tone as we finally managed to get Akahana to sit back down.
Do all pregnant women gain an explosive increase in physical strength?
"No..."
Aunty muttered. At first glance, it seemed as if she was worried about Uncle Iroh, but the gleam in her eyes said otherwise. She seemed almost certain that a confrontation wouldn't break out.
"What? Are you scared that Iroh will get his ass handed to him? He may be strong, but he can't unleash his full strength." My mother smirked. The room turned cold as Akahana and I shot her a glare.
"Mom..."
"What did you do?"
My mother didn't answer at first as her gaze was fixed out the window.
"Because while you studied under Lady Mito, she never told you completely the effects of your seal." She finally shifted her gaze back to us and smiled.
"Shinku mentioned this already and informed me of its effects..."
"If he informed you in full, you would have left with him."
Interrupting my words, her smile dropped, and she took several steps back, evading a Kunai that stabbed into the wooden flooring.
"So... you skipped the whole fight." My mother said as a figure suddenly stood in front of her.
It's been half a year, but I could still recognize him at a glance.
His tall, muscular figure dressed in all black pants and haori. His wooden brown skin and his long flowing braided black hair.
He turned to face me, and the beauty of his crimson eyes sucked me into a daydream, those sharp, piercing, Sharingan eyes...
Shinku... Shinku Shihouin, my creation...
"Shinku!" Akahana and I shouted. It was one thing to sense him, but it was even more moving to see him ourselves after what felt like so long.
"..."
He moved closer, and it was then that I noticed the bandages wrapped around his abdomen and the three seals missing.
A look of confusion spread across his face as he counted several tines on his fingers before reaching out to take Akahana's wrist.
His face distorted into deeper confusion as he did so.
"I... I left six months ago... right?"
I nodded to his question, unsure of what was bothering him.
"How far out is she?"
"Around a month and a half, maybe two." Lady Yuna whispered as she shrunk in fear before Shinku.
"..."
"..."
"When did you start showing signs?" Shinku whispered as he caressed Akahana's left cheek gently, moving strands of her hair back as he did so.
"Not long after you left..."
"..."
"..."
"And nobody else finds that odd?"
Hmm?
Slowly, I did the math as well and frowned as I had to repeat the process several times...
"Her pregnancy is ahead of schedule." Mother said, getting a nod from Shinku.
"Either she's early, or she had a late reaction." I doubt that she's early and am willing to bet she was unknowingly pregnant a month or two before I left." Shinku rubbed his brow and sighed.
"Why are you here? Im sure you didn'tcome back because you were aware of her pregnancy."
It seemed we won't have a chance for a proper reunion...
My mother got straight to the point and began questioning Shinku's sudden arrival.
