Chapitre 20: Chapter 19

BOOM

In the middle of Yugakure, Shinku stood atop the roof of a dongo shop with a rabbit masked Summer, and a cat masked Ye Xiao at his side. The three had planned to set off when the tower in the distance began to crumble.

The three watched as Odin burst out from the Tower, his arms covered in bloody white bones, his cloak had been shredded revealing his scarred muscular torso.

Following after him on a pillar of mud was a slender figure with a porcelain white mask, a white hood, with a black vest.

Reaching a rooftop in the distance, Odin shot out the bones from both his forearms at the still airborne figure chasing him until all the bones were gone.

"Kamish..." Summer mumbled, recognizing the figure Odin was entangled with.

"You know him then?"

Unable to dodge, Kamish parried a few of the incoming bones but had been slashed several times across his body and pierced even more.

Summer nodded at Shinku's question as she then briefly explained.

"Odin picked up Ten children with massive potential and trained them all to become monsters. Later, they came to be known as the Sura Monsters and white masked demons.

They rarely ever come back around because they're all nomadic and take commissions from anyone on the road that offers a high enough price."

"Hmm. A Monster, huh?" A grin unconsciously formed on his lips.

Landing on the roof Odin stood on, Kamish quickly ripped the bones out of his flesh and glared at Odin while performing hand seals and shouting inaudibly.

Odin shouted back and evaded a fire dragon that barreled after him. Almost like it had a mind of its own, the justu swirled around and followed after the old Oni masked man.

The rooftop they stood on became a burning mess in an instant, and Odin was running out of room to move.

Reaching the last strip of the roof, Odin slammed his foot down, and a large wall of bones burst out from his heel, blocking the jutsu as he leaped onto the rooftop across the way.

His samdles were now ripped to shreds, but he was out of immediate danger. Glaring daggers, Odin watched as Kamish stepped through the flames.

The student he had trained for decades was now even more skilled than he remembered and was pressuring him.

Though, that didn't mean the old timer was going to be surpassed that easily.

Pulling out a long sword like bone from his back, Odin readied himself to finally take the offensive. With a chakra coating his entire figure as well as the bone sword, he enhanced his physical capabilities to the extreme.

Releasing a breath so hot the air turned to vapor. Odin disappeared from his place, leaving streaks of blackness.

Shinku's grin widened even more, seeing this. It was the same sword technique he demoed to the old man, and now he was using his own version of it.

Odin reappeared in a flash beside Kamish and slashed down at his neck. He was fast. So fast that Kamish was hardly even able to process what happened when his instincts screamed at him to run.

At that moment, he dove to the side and rolled away.

Slice

At his fastest handseal speed, an earth dragon burst out from the ground and arose above the roof top and picked him up.

Kamish was forced to hold his ear in pain as a burning sensation soon filled the left sode of his head.

Looking down at the figure of Odin, his eyes trembled at the blood-stained bone, and the ear that was burning on the flaming roof.

The flames danced around and threatened to engulf Odin as well, but the old man leaped into the air and landed on the side of the earth dragon.

With each step he took upward, Odin evaded countless spikes and slashed through severe walls.

He wasn't ready before and was forced to take the defensive because of it. Now that he was properly ready, he was set on showing what a true monster was.

Flashing in and out, Odin was like a beast toying with its prey as he broke through a thick wall and reached the top of the dragon. In this time, it had already reached though of meters into the air.

Odin stared at the trembling figure of Kamish before walking past him and disappeared.

Just as Kamish was about to speak, his head fell off, and his entire body turned into mud before collapsing.

Seeing this, Shinku felt it wasn't right to call someone as weak as Kamish a monster, though it was only because Shinku acknowledged Odin as a much fiercer monster and wanted to face that monster properly in the future.

"Let's go." Shinku said and headed off.

There wasn't much to watch at this point, so Summer and Ye Xiao followed after him.

"Why are you running? I thought you were all big and bad now that you're older. Even had the nerve to destroy my favorite building, now you have your tail between your legs?" Odin walked through the streets of Yugakure, scattered about were pieces of ruble from the over destructive jutsus of Kamish.

Looking around, the frightened faces of the citizens peeking through their windows filled Odins view as he followed the chakra signature of Kamish.

His student messed up, so he felt partially responsible for his acts.

"I'll fix this once I finish with him."

Odin whispered as he picked up his pace and drew closer to where Kamish hid.

Eventually, Odin reached a gambling house in the red light district. Moving to open the door, Odin leaped back, avoiding twin dragons made from fire and earth that burst through the wall and slammed into the ground where he had stood.

Following this, dozens of shards of earth were flung at Odin as he summersalted out of the way.

Screams resounded from inside the gambling house as well as from those still remaining on the streets.

"All I wanted was the Uzumaki!" Kamish spoke as he arose from the ground as a pile of mud, slowly taking shape behind Odin. Wrapping around his former master like a coiling dragon, aiming to restrict his movements as well as his breathing.

Odin didn't speak as he continued to release waves of chakra from his body, constantly forcing tiny openings in Kamish's hold.

"Face ot old man, now is the day you die." Kamish growled as the earth dragon and fire dragon came barreling towards them.

"..."

Forcing and opening just big enough to allow his right arm to move, Odin stabbed his bone katana into the ground. From his feet, dozens of bone blades pierced the earth as he channeled chakra through them.

Black sparks of electricity shot through his hand into the katana. In an instant, the bones turned charred, and the muddy body of Kamish shook violently from the powerful currents of Odins storm release.

The mud surrounded his body, fell away, and Odin erected a bode wall around himself to take the brunt of the incoming dragons.

Kamish's real body was soon forced out from his hiding place underground. His entire body was charred, and his breathing was quickly coming to a slow.

Whoosh

The earth and fire dragons never got to finish their charge but littered the area with shards of earth that crushed a whore house and the gambling hoise while remnants of fire started to burn what was left of the red light district.

Those who managed to avoid it were now fleeing out of the district, leaving those who died, Kamish, and Odin as he removed the dome.

His body arms and legs were covered with holes, each one bleeding profusely from the constant use of his kekkei genkai.

"Pl-"

Odin slowly made his way to Kamish, his mask hiding his emotions. His glowing blue eyes were the only indication of the anger he was filling.

"Sigh. I thought I raised you better than this." Odin said as he grabbed the collar of the collapsed and charred Kamsih, dragging him away.

. . .

. .

.

Step... step

Step

Step... step

Shinku and Gin leaped from one tree to another, their steps in sync with one another. Ye Xiao struggled to follow behind the two adults, his steps clumsy and lagging behind the two.

Still, the boy pushed himself despite being exhausted. The words Shinku said to him before were his motivation to not become a burden.

"You alright back here?"

Gin asked as she slowed her pace down. She had changed out of her bar maid uniform and now had on a similar set of clothes to Shinku. With a black vest and long-sleeved shirt, long black pants that clung tightly to her figure, black sandles, and a Sora cloak.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. But just where are we heading?"

Ye Xiao nodded. He currently wore a black and red jumper with a plain grey cloak.

"To the land of frost. I had an assassination request that was put off for some time. Now, the data that was given back then has to be reconfirmed before i can actively pursue the target."

Shinku slowed his pace as well and answered. His gaze focused ahead, but he was also scouting for any chakra signatures around then in case of an ambush.

"Wh What?" Ye Xiao looked like jlhe wanted to shout, but the fear of Shinku actually killing him took his breath, and he could only weakly whispered.

"What do you mean, what?" Shinku glanced back at the timid boy with an annoyed glint.

"Uh um um. I I was just thinking, why go so far when you can always work close by?"

Shinku and Gin stared at the boy like he had grown an extra head.

"I'm not gonna be the one to answer that." Shinku sighed in annoyance and picked up his pace.

"Sigh. Local requests don't have the same payout as those from influential figures outside the land of hot water. Not only that, if too many Sora members are operating inside the country, then naturally unwanted eyes will be shifted towards us."

Gin said as she too picked up the pace to follow after Shinku.

'I see...'

The three continued toward the land of frost on foot. While Shinku could have teleported the three to one of his teleportation seals closer to Frost, he had wanted to see just how far the kid was willing to go to not die.
