~ ZARA ~
That night when we reached the estate it was very late, and we were exhausted from loving each other several times in the carriage.
So we told the sleepy servants to ignore our unpacked bags until morning and tumbled into the unfamiliar bed.
David, true to form, fell into a deep sleep almost immediately.
I slipped away more slowly, my eyes closing over the sight of his handsome face turned towards me in sleep, his broad, strong chest bare because he'd pushed the blankets back.
I fell asleep thinking about how incredible my life was, and how special. And wondering why all of this had happened to me—but being very, very grateful that it had.
I don't know how long I slept before I felt the end of the bed dip and assumed David must have gotten up, or perhaps it was morning and a servant had walked in. In the fog of half-sleep, I rolled over and muttered, "Leave us to sleep. We're tired."
I can't believe we made it. This book has been one of the toughest journeys I've taken with a serial--but YOU made it worthwhile. Thank you so much! I honestly can't express how grateful I am.
If you got here before Sunday December 10th (in the USA), then make sure and join my fbook group (you can find the link at linktr.ee/authoraimee) to be a part of my LIVE Q & A and Giveaway PLUS if you get in there before December 1st, you can also be in the DAILY draws for my annual TWELVE DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS Christmas Party! (1-12 December!)
But in all seriousness, this book wouldn't have been finished without you. It was hard to write, not a commercial success, and overlooked by most of my readers here on WN, so without YOU, we wouldn't have made it.
Thank you! Thank you for being here, and for joining me on this hairy ride. And special thanks the Pickle Pack who read ahead for me and helped me fix issues before they were published, and to the CHOICE Spoiler Chat (on FB) for being so invested and having SO MUCH FUN.
#SusPatrol FOREVER. (I hope I surprised you, at least a little)
God bless you all for the blessing you've been to me!
Aimee
