The dungeons were… horrifying. Dark, dank. The air punctured with moans and the occasional gasp or scream.

I was shaking by the time we made it to the actual prison below the Palace, babbling to the guards, pleading with them to see that I was no threat.

Thankfully, when we got down there, they shoved me into the waiting arms of a handful of women.

They must be the guards Stark had mentioned. None of them dressed in black like Hildie, but two had the same vests she wore, with the built-in sheaths.

I trembled as they stripped me down of the clothing Hildie had given me, making certain I had no weapons hidden on my body, then gave me a robe that was little more than a long, linen shirt that fell below my knees.
