Somehow I had missed it. Somehow, during all those talks of plans and schedules and gatherings and etiquette and fucking dignitaries, I had just not heard that these people were going to vote.

These rich, entitled snobs were casting votes in our favor—in front of David. And today they were gathering us, along with the wider Court, and high ranking citizens from the City to tell us all what they thought. Like some fucking Bachelor in Camelot shitshow in which I was going to be publicly humiliated.

I couldn't believe it.

Things had ended so much better last night, I'd gone to bed not confident, but at least no longer feeling like I was a donkey among thoroughbreds.
