While the adults were separated into another underground base, the youngsters made their way to the sixth ground level as instructed earlier.
As they got there, they were greeted by a literal laboratory filled with alien technology and a few cylindrical tanks that had the bodies of Granians floating in them.
A couple of black pods were taken apart and studied, weapons were being tested and a couple of scientists were observing the body of a dead Granian.
While all the teens admired the strange technology and research being conducted, Ace stared at the Granians in the cylinders with great anger growing inside of him.
He remembered how they kept him in there for three months and to make it worse, they still had his sister in their custody. 'You'll pay for taking my sister from me.' He said to himself.
"BOYS AND GIRLS!" A large man with a thick gray beard and a heavily toned body shouted.
"Welcome to the Military Training Base. Sadly, all of you are here because you survived the deadly gases that have filled our planet's atmosphere. Thanks to your serums, you all survived but the same can't be said for those who didn't."
"My name's General Jack, leader of this base and one of the Earth's top leading Generals. What you see here is experimental technology that you're all going to get accustomed to very soon but for now, you're all going to be tested and sectioned according to your power levels." He said as he pointed to two large rooms on his right and left. "To the left, we'll have the physical tests and to your right, we'll have the combat training and other lessons."
"I'll request that a few will go in at a time for their assessment since the room cannot accommodate all of you at once."
"But wait, We were already tested and we know what class we belong to."
"Yeah!! Why do we have to do this all over again?"
"This isn't fair. Some of these guys are bigger and stronger than us. They can end us in those physical tests."
"You can't make us go through all of this again."
The teens argued and complained about having to be tested again since they had already done that a few months ago.
Neither of them wanted to go through the tests again, even though they didn't clearly know what they were about.
General Jack rolled his eyes in frustration and silenced them before saying, "We're not separating you based on your power class. We know some of you have gotten accustomed to their powers but there are those who haven't. These tests are to equally separate the weak from the strong so that we'll know where to begin with. Now, all of you are to take these tests, whether you like them, or not."
General Jake said as the room to his left was opened. Five more older-looking generals came out with tablets in their hands and judgemental looks all over their faces.
The oldest looking of them was a tall, slim man with quite a long beard and surprisingly, a head full of hair. Unlike General Jack, he and the others were dressed in exquisite blue uniforms with futuristic designs.
"Greetings. I am General Luke. I and my colleagues will be incharge of leading you through the physical assessments we've sorted out for each of you. After that, you'll all be given a uniform according to your power level and tags as well. Do not fear. These tests help you, not break you...that is if you have what it takes."
"Shall we begin?" He asked as he asked for the first ten students to go in.
Five boys and five girls made their way into the room while the others waited for their turn.
Ace sat a few meters away from the others since he wasn't ready to make any friends yet.
He was already a social outcast earlier and even though he didn't know any of his peers, apart from Jason, he wasn't ready to make any friends.
He sat there and watched as ten people would go in and ten would come out in different colored uniforms. So far, the colors were dark red, yellow, orange, and black.
Ace figured that those in black were the strongest since there were only two of them so far. Those in red were the majority so they had to be the elementals. Those in yellow were the body cultivators and the ones in orange were both elementals and body cultivators.
'Crap. What if they ask me to show them what I can do?' He asked himself. 'I don't fall under any of these categories. System, what do I do?' He asked but got no response in the end.
Ace began to panic and General Jack, who noticed him from afar, noticed it.
He casually made his way to Ace and said, "You're quite the well-built boy, aren't you?" He asked.
Ace, who had never been called that before, looked at himself in disbelief. He then looked at the General and said, " Err...yeah. I...guess I am."
"Very well then." General Jake held Ace's hand as he took him to the front. "You'll be heading in next. I'd like to see what a boy like you is capable of."
"But Sir, wait. I'm not exactly...." Before Ace finished his explanation, General Jack had already grouped him with the other nine that were going in next.
Among them was Jason who seemed to have an eerie smile as he looked at Ace. His fingers sparked with mini lighting bolts as he run his thumb across his neck and mouthed the words, *You're dead.*
Ace took a deep breath to calm himself down before opening his system panel to see if there was anything that would help him in his current conundrum.
Instead of checking his full system, he specifically checked his stats to see if he could at least fool people with his strength.
[Strength:7]
[Agility:6]
[Stamina:4]
[1 stat point available]
'My strength's already high but my stamina's extremely low. I don't know whether I should make myself stronger or faster. On one hand, it could be a test of strength. On the other, it could be a test of speed or something. Augh, this is so confusing.'
Ace decided to keep his stat point and decide where he'd allocate it after learning what kind of physical test it would be.
While all of this was happening, one of the others that were going in for a test with him looked at him with great concern, wondering if Ace was alright.
'He seems lost and confused. Perhaps it's anxiety from this whole test. I'll have to keep my eye on this one.'
