Chapitre 428: The cycle of fear

Cael found Vittorio in another town, not unlike the one Cael just visited himself. And the situation there was very similar, too.

But worse. Less smelly, but still worse.

This time, the crowd of rioters was bigger, and they were already armed with pitchforks and torches. They were angry, and in a crowd like that, this anger united them in a single many-headed beast.

Vittorio opposed the rioters with a squad of soldiers. They all had weapons ready. Vittorio's protective magic surrounded him and his people with invisible shields.

No blows were thrown yet, but if they would be, they would be lethal.

"Give your seat back to your father, milk-sucker! He would have never made an order like that!"

"We won't give our blood! We won't let no dark mages put their vile curses upon us!"

"Protect our children from blood-takers!"

Vittorio's magically enhanced voice rose over the clamoring.
