It was around four in the evening when Jinah and Haru made their way back to the former's apartment after an eventful yet short day.
They watched a movie of Jinah's choice and then went to a nearby bookstore and had lunch before Jinah began to feel tired from all the walking and running around. They never used transportation even though the cinema theater was quite far from the cafe.
Neither of them said anything related to the two-kilometer walk since the engaging chat made them so invested to notice when they reached their destination. At the end of the date, Haru urged them to fly her over the place and she complied. She indeed was too tired.
Standing near her apartment, Jinah turned to bid her farewell as with a smile she finally let out the words she has been suppressing since the morning.
"Thanks, Haru...for accompanying me and also for saving me from that blond cheapskate."
Without even her noticing Jinah found her hand over his as she uttered out those words. She was thankful to him to intervene at that time and helping her out of that situation. Haru might have gone overboard but it didn't change the fact that he appeared at the right place and right time when she needed him.
The time she spent with Haru...seemed incredibly short and each second felt like an event worth housing a memory in her mind. His silly jokes, his considerate behavior, and his protective nature were making Jinah quite addicted to this friend of hers. She usually gets bored on weekends but with Haru, she felt disappointed when the day came to an end and her weak physicality forced them to retreat this early.
"Well, it's given that I would look out for the woman whom I love the most in my life, right?"
"Eh?"
Jinah blinked in utter shock hearing those words flowing out so naturally that it was given fact and Haru was just stating the truth. Jinah was not sure how she should be reacting to this which made the atmosphere extremely awkward with Jinah yet to recover from her shock.
But when she saw his shoulder trembling seemingly because of his suppressed laugh, she narrowed her gaze and pinched his forearm with quite a strength.
"Phahaha...sorry sorry. I was just intimating that protagonist from the movie..."
Now when he said that Jinah realized that indeed there was a similar scene in the movie and the hero indeed said such cheesy lines to the female lead. She was in awe watching the scene at that time but now after Haru had made a joke out of it, her perception shifted as well.
"Seriously Haru...?!"
"I know it was corny but I like it."
Haru grinned, Jinah sighed. Seriously, the face he had when he fought that giant wolf at that time and the Haru who behaves childish and carefree seem two different people entirely. Well, the latter one was easy to communicate with but the former serious-looking Haru at that time seemed kinda...hot?
Jinah didn't dwell on it for long before she turned to walk away after saying him bye. She was just about to step inside the apartment building when Haru called for her.
"Hey, Jinah."
The girl halted in her steps before she instinctively turned to look at him. In response to her questioning look, Haru stayed silent for a moment with a small smile still stretching his lips before he uttered some words which brought a strange sensation in her heart.
"Nothing...just felt like missing you already..."
With those words, Haru flew away from his spot but for a long period, Jinah remained frozen at her place. Her face heated a bit with her cheeks tinted in a pink glow.
She stood there for another half a minute before a smile bloomed on her face and with a shake of her head she headed to her home.
"Silly..."

Inside a coffee shop near the apartment where Jinah lives, there sat two individuals wearing tailor-made formal suits with expensive-looking glasses even though they were indoors.
Both men had handsome features as they gathered some attention from their surroundings while they sipped on their beverage.
"Do you think this is the right procedure Hyung? I know we have to find the right opportunity to talk to the target but this seems borderline stalking."
One of the two, who had spiky green hair spoke in a doubtful tone since the person they had to find and bring to the association was actually a teenage boy named Haruka Nanase, and since he was not an evaluated hunter, the person Hyung—Mi-Soo—chose to lay low until the teenager gets alone before walking up to him for a peaceful chat.
This seemed like they were here for kidnapping or something...
"You don't understand junior. This matter is of great concern and Chief Jinchul has handed me the role to bring Haruka Nanase to the association for negotiation. If things go perfectly as I have thought then this would be my first successful recruit and promotion would soon follow."
The one who replied was the same person who escorted the surveillance chief of the Korean Hunter Association Woo Jinchul to the site where Haru destroyed a boss monster in a clear strike and left a notable aftermath to become a target of great interest.
But approaching a young boy seemed a task to be devised carefully since teenagers tend to be repulsive and hot-headed. Mi-Soo has to be cautious with his approach and definitely not disturb the boy when he was enjoying his date. That brought them all the way here through their quick tracking system.
They have been patiently waiting since the morning to have a chat with Haru and sort things out before taking him to headquarters. Sure they would not force him but Mi-Soo was confident in his power of convincing people. Persuading a youth was a piece of cake for him.
But against his expectation, Haru didn't begin walking away after leaving his girl at her apartment, rather...
"Shit!"
They saw Haru leaving Jinah at her house but witnessing him fly away made Mi-Soo curse under his breath. They didn't know which kind of attribute grants him flight but it was now getting annoying.
Mi-Soo instantly slid his hand inside his pant pocket before bringing out his phone, intending to dial the intelligence department and track the boy once again before he distance himself far out of reach.
But suddenly, someone took away the phone from his hand making Mi-Soo irritated at the person who could be no one else but his junior.
"I swear to g-"
Mi-Soo brought his tongue to a halt when his eyes fell on the person who had his phone. The same person whom he was desperately searching for and wanted to have a much-needed conversation with for the past eight hours was finally right in front of the pitiful agents.
"It's kinda annoying to be stalked, y'know. "
