Chapitre 14: Command

"A technique?" Prime casually repeated it and deliberated over it for a few seconds.

Zenesha waited; in fact, she almost wanted him to hurry up. What if the aura had already dissipated before he managed to tell him? There was no way she could visit him again unless he called for her.

"I'm not adept with this magic," he said after a while, and her expression sank and she became disappointed. However, he continued, there was also a grin on his lips. He seemed to notice her mood and was pleased with this.

Fuck. He did it on purpose, How come she always forgot that Prime could pull an act like this? She was always being provoked by this Time Dragon and it was getting on her nerves.

Zenesha nodded, listening attentively. She already ignored pure Zenesha's presence, since it was ultimately a puppet and she couldn't control the body.

She seemed to vaguely comprehend something about this, but it was hazy. He casually added more, this time locking gazes with her. As though he wanted her to listen to every word he would say.

Unlike earlier, he was very serious. Perhaps, because the aura was already about to dissipate any minute. Zenesha also became solemn, not hesitating to hear every single thing he had to say.

"You are different. You don't need any affinity for moonlight magic or even for anything in the moon domain itself. Look at who you are," a genuine smile emerged on his lips, upon seeing the epiphany in Zensha's expression, "You are the Wolf Queen, the embodiment of the moon domain itself. In other words, you don't have to slowly understand the elements in your surroundings like those low-level beings... you only need to command them."

And as those words were uttered, 'Prime' left.

Zenesha was still so immersed in Prime's words that she didn't bother to fully focus on what was happening in the middle of an act. Ravino didn't notice that his body was once again being used as a vessel by those higher and unknown beings.

While, pure Zenesha was still the same as always.

In the end, only a few minutes later, she returned to her bedchambers and didn't spend a night in Ravino's palace, much to her relief. Once she was the only one inside, Zenesha automatically got up from the bed and walked until she was in her usual spot.

"I don't need to slowly understand the elements... I only need to command them." Zenesha mumbled and repeated Prime's words. She already repeated it countless times when she was in Ravino's palace, when returning to her chambers, and even when she was being assisted to strip off anything for her nightgown.

The idea and principle were actually easy and simple to understand. It seemed so... however, it might be in Prime's words, but she was still aware that putting them into practice was in no way simple.

Commanding the elements? It was easy to say, but how could she command them and make them obey her? Her identity as a Wolf Queen made it convenient, but her mastery and inexperience were the ones pulling her down.

"Command them... I need to command them. But how?" Zenesha kept on muttering to herself and concentrating.

After a while, she decided to try it first and eventually make a trial and error on what worked the best. After all, practicing a few more times could help her become familiar with it.

Nodding to herself, standing in front of the balcony where the moonlight shone directly on her, Zenesha closed her eyes, attempting to enter her tranced state. This was the state where she could sense the elements best.

It didn't take her long to enter this state. Aside from the fact that she already managed to do so over the past few days, her years of experience as an assassin also helped. This made her mentality firm and focused.

In no time, the elements seemed to become clearer to her, and she could sense them in her surroundings as though they were gathering around her. No, it was actually that her existence was the greatest temptation to these elements, and they were always there but always nonexistent at the same time.

She exhaled and calmed her emotions, and she sensed that her breath alone made the elements become both chaotic and in order. They floated around her, enveloping her as though waiting for her to command them.

Zenesha had this impression that she only had to instruct them, and they would immediately obey. However, she suppressed these thoughts. These were all just the instincts of the Wolf Queen, and she wouldn't naively think that she could really do it.

She still wanted more stable communication for them; it might be a little slower than what she was capable of in theory, but it could guarantee that no accidents could happen. Zenesha couldn't afford to make a mistake.

With her sensing them, her 'intention' surrounded her. Sensing this, the elements gradually gathered even more and converged with each other. She was careful, since this was only the first step, it was the step she practiced a lot of times but only led to failure at the last step.

'Calm down. Don't be in a rush.' Zenesha inwardly muttered, maintaining her concentration. With this step done, the elements were much bigger from gathering and converging together than before but still somewhat dispersed.

This time, she wanted to try the idea of commanding them and not only intending for them to gather at the tips of her fingers. She now understood that she wasn't actually commanding, but she was forcefully gathering them in her fingers. Her understanding and mental power weren't enough of that, so even with her vast magical power, it could only ever lead to failure.

Her 'intention' tried to envelop the elements again and try to communicate with them. Of course, she wasn't being overly friendly either. It was because she was commanding them and not requesting their help. In a way, it was like a queen ordering her subordinates.

Zenesha had to remind herself about it, otherwise, these elements would not take her seriously. They might not look like it, but she had the feeling they were somewhat sentient.

She didn't know how to communicate with them; she was only following her instincts. With her intention, she passed her 'command' to the elements.

It didn't have to be verbal. As she raised her right hand, her command seemed to resonate with everyone as they finally gathered at the tip of her fingers. This made Zenesha's hands hot and somewhat painful, but she endured them.

As there were still elements attempting to join, she cut off her connection with other elements, the same thing as saying she didn't need them this time. If she didn't know, her hand might explode at any moment.

Clenching her lips, Zenesha opened her eyes. Instantly, the image of her hand reflected in her eyes. To the naked eye, it appeared to be a pure white fire, but upon closer inspection, it was simply a collective ball of lights.

She admired them for a bit before she couldn't endure it anymore and dispersed them herself. It was easier to command them to disperse than to gather them.

Her hand became lighter, but she stared at it, still having the feeling of heat from the elements. She succeeded.

"Slow..." Zenesha criticized herself, but a pleased smile appeared on her lips.
